All you need to do this is any number of entertainers, one friendly Combat Medic and some area effect focus or willpower disease packs. Mind disease packs r undersirable since they can actually incap and kill themselves if they use mind pool when the disease ticks.

Here's the macro the entertainers or anyone who is willing to get disease to help out will need: challenge-cm

/duel combatmedic_name ;

/peace ;

/pause 30;

/peace ;

/pause 30 ;

/peace ;

/macro challenge-cm ;

*Note: if the combat medic is not within range, a challenge will be issued to whomever u r targetting. Be careful.

The combat medic will need 3 macros, just becuz two of them could get a lil large. The combat medic must have one of the people who will be dueling him every pass targetted for this to work! Here's the main macro: disease-all

/macro duel-list ;

/pause 10 ;

/ui action toolbarSlot00 ; <--- put ur disease packs in these slots. only 1 at a time will be used

/ui action toolbarSlot01 ;

/ui action toolbarSlot02 ;

/ui action toolbarSlot03 ;

/pause 6 ;

/peace ;

/ui action toolbarSlot11 ; <--- This slot could contain a non-AE mind disease pack for hitting the targetted person so that /healmind may be used. see healmind-loop macro near end of post.

/pause 6 ;

/peace ;

/macro endduel-list ;

/peace ;

/pause 600 ; <--- set this to whatever the duration of ur disease packs is

/macro disease-all ;

*Important: The combat medic must have one of the people who will be dueling him every pass targetted for this to work! If the combat medic is also using non-AE mind disease packs on his target, that target should not use any mind pool or he may incap and kill himself by using mind pool (ie. target an entertainer).

The duel list is simple. Remember that u need a /pause 1 after every 6 commands or commands will get dropped. Here's the macro: duel-list

/duel person1 ;

/duel person2 ;

...

/duel person6 ;

/pause 1 ;

/duel person7 ;

...

The endduel-list macro is the same except u would use "/endduel"instead of "/duel"

Remember to have everyone who's participating watching and/or listening to the entertainers. Muscians can only watch dancers and dancers and only listen to muscians. Other folks, including the combat medic, can do both.

The combat medic can use a /healmind loop to generate his own wounds. If the combat medic also mind diseases his target, then he may also /healmind on that target while there r wounds. This will work on anyone w mind wounds, but those w disease tend to keep it longer. Here's the /healmind macro: healmind-loop

/healmind ;

/pause 60 ;

/macro healmind-loop ;

*Important: Unless there is another combat medic healing this combat medic's mind, he must be careful not to do it so often that he fully drains his mind pool. He could incap and eventually kill himself.

The combat medic could use an advertising macro to inform people of what he's doing. Use the combat medic's afk message to inform people to use the challenge-cm macro described above and to inform them to send the combat medic an email so that he may add their names to the duel list when he checks in again. Here's the usual shout: disease-ad

/shout Help out the entertainers. ForFREE MIND DISEASE, /tell combat_medic_name ;

/pause 200 ;

/macro disease-ad ;

Here's the standard afk message:

For mind disease, use this macro:

<describe challenge-ch>

Then send me an email so I can add u to the duel list whenI check in.You will receive AE focus/willpower disease every x seconds.

I hope this helps. Comments, questions and abuse welcome.

I'm pretty sure this is frowned on by the Devs but, wow! That is a really nice guide.

I don't see anything flaming against Dancers in it and it is not more offensive than our current level of AFK imo... so, I'm not flaming you or reporting you to the mods... I am going to ask in the Corre Forum just so we can be clear on whether or not we're allowed to have posts like this.

Thanx for the heads up. I had no idea the moderators would have an objection to this post. I will happily removed it (and it's clones in the other 2 entertainer-based forums) if there's a problem. I'm just trying to help people out. It's really in the truest cooperative spirit of the game.

I only dreamt this up because I have been grinding all 3 entertainer professions and have found it so mind-numbingly unstimulating that I entertained myself by tweaking and tweaking until I came up with these results. I can't imagine anyone actually being at the computer for the entire time it takes to master dancer or musician.

First, this makes me cry. You need to find some fun people to dance with!

Second, I don't know... on the one hand, we all agree EH is a chore (I mastered 100% ATK, so I really know ) ... on the other hand, we have some confusion on what is considered ok with AFK grinding and what isn't. The Devs have said it's allowed, but they've also now said they want it reduced (in the translated transcript)... the CM thing has been around forever and some people say the Devs say it's an exploit. I've never read that personally, so... I have to ask.

Nice guide though!

Heheh..and I've mastered dance twice..never afk. No offense taken though. It does take a special kind of player to enjoy a social class such as the entertainer profs. And I've never objected to a little work. I'm also tkm on my dancer, have 2 craft characters, run a faction/pa independent player city as well as remain active in a non-dev designed profession (decorator)..some of us like to actively participate in the games we subscribe to. I honestly feel sad for those who choose not to.

It also requires a little thinking out of the box to enjoy anything so dominated by afk players as our profession is at this time.And I've found that ATK'ing is infectious. When I'm in the cantina other entertainers know I'll be around chatting people up, playing with dances and having fun. They stick around too..because we all play to have fun. Once you're done with your grind, come back to the cantina when you want a heal or buff and a little light conversation. Some of us will still be around..and at the keyboard.

Good luck on your grind.

Instead of spending time writing macros to play the game for you, why don't you try a profession you enjoy and PLAY the game? If you like writing macros so much, get a job as a programmer, I think it'll be more satisfying than posting here.

And no, I don't find the macros in the post particularly useful to anyone. All it does is degrade gameplay for everyone. If I want to play with a bunch of macros, I'll play KOTOR. I didn't pay for this game to play with your crummy macros.

Go post macros on how to cheat the game and exploit our profession on some other forum, I'm sick of this crap taking up space that could be useful.

For the record, I *do* enjoy writing macros and I *am* a programmer. The macros were the part of entertainer that I actually enjoyed. Hence this post. I believe that there are dedicated players that might find this information helpful.

And as soon as I finish with musician, will go back to professions I prefer. Holocrons, don't ya know.

I'm sorry you dislike macros. In the future, I would recommend not reading posts with titles clearly indicating that they are about macros. This will reduce your stress and improve your quality of life.

And as to reporting the posted macro to the mods: I think not. This is purely made within the frame for macros provided by the game. Why can't you guys be a little more understanding? You know, you guys will still be around after the holo frenzy has subsided. And just like the other "true" professionals you have something the grinders lack, know how. You know how to conduct a performance that utilizes the best things your professions have to offer. Pretty much like crafters collect resources and build an understanding of how to put the pieces together in order to get a good final product, so do you know how to entertain and make people feel comfortable.
Why don't you extend a helping hand to the ones who chose the holo hunt? I know lots of other professions do. Just help them out and send them on their merry way

You should re-read Panthu's post Knasboll.

She said that she WASN'T going to report this to the mods, but did want to make sure that this kind of info was allowed to be posted, presumably so that Bal'Inki doesn't get banned.

So, in actual fact, Panthu is looking out for Bal'Inki.

5 stars! I also use macros to get through this stage of holo-grinding. I use a macro that is similar but there are some things from yours I will take. That being said.. it would be really cool if you would remove that part about the CM spamming about his macro and what it does. That gets old real fast. I think most know what the CM is doing and as long as your group knows that is all that matters. my 2 cents.

Good idea. I would suggest a silent alternative. If u have a name-able droid, u can call it ForMindDiseaseTellCombatMedicName or something like that. Just have it out near u. It will prolly get read more often than spam anyway.

I attempted to edit the original post, but it seems to have some problem w the original text and won't allow it. /shrug.

I know she said she was not going to report it. It was the sheer notion that someone actually would considering reporting it that struck a nerve.

Anyway, my original post is somehow gone so I'll leave it there.

Keep up the good work, all real entertainers.
