And is it ok not to tip AFKs?

My take on this is that your tip is a show of appreciation for the service being provided. The amount can be relative to your own personal wealth, and to the amount that the entertainer... well, actually entertained you.

If I receive a tip for 50 credits from someone who's obviously very new to the game, and doesn't have very much money, that tip is as good to me as a 5k tip from a master weaponsmith, because I know that to that new player, 50 credits is a lot of money... and the fact that they tipped at all shows they care and that my work has been appreciated. Depending on the finances of the healing customer, I've received tips in a very broad range, although to help more directly answer your question, often a tip of between 500 to 1500 credits is fairly common, with adjustments made for the health of your bank account, and how much you enjoyed the entertainer who healed you.

I personally don't feel that AFK macrotainers deserve to be tipped at all. If they don't even care enough to be there for you, why should you reward them for their lack of caring. They are an automated game mechanic, nothing more. Those entertainers who care to be there for you, with a smile and a greeting and perhaps some friendly conversation to pass the time, are the ones who deserve that reward of the tip. Hope this perspective helps you out a bit.

i will usually tip between 500 and 2000 depending on how mangled i am but generally i have the money to give.

i don't tip afk people nor do i expect anyone to tip me when i am afk dancing..its a macro to grind xp and no effort is being put into healing me or conversely i am putting no effort into healing anyone when i'm afk.

don't choose to watch the afk people just to save money tho, give a little to the people who are at the keyboard..hard to make money just hanging out in cantinas anyother way than getting tips

I believe that a set fee is only based on your opinion of their worth. For example I would thing that if you're just getting healed the 1 credit per a point of Battle Fatigue is just as fair as anthing higher. Now if they entertained you extra and you care to reward them for it sure. As for entertainers buffing you? I tend to let them tip whatever they want to. So far it appears that 5,000 is what most will pay if you tell them that.
