Thread: Was the guy who designed the Mandoviol animations left handed?
No, not necessarily. Tuning pegs can be placed on the bottom of a reversed headstock... usually just for a different look. They can pretty much go wherever you want if you build the instrument;on the top or bottom, or split top and bottom. It's just that on the fender styled headstocks (inline pegs) it's usuallymore convenient for the playerto reach to the topfor tuning. And, any stringed instrument can be strung upside down, provided the saddles and nuts are also reversed to allow for the correct string gauges.
Our toons hold the mandoviol left handed. (The tuning keys should be on the top not the bottom. Only way you can get away with it the way it is, would be if your name is Jimi Hendrix and you had it strung upside down because you're a musical genius.

And as a follow-up...
Yes, the mandoviolanimations are being playedleft handed, all tuning peg issues aside. So there you have it. ![]()
Yep! It's the only thing I get to do left handed in-game which is pretty darn sad. Being left handed in RL, I should have the ability to hold everything in-game that way. I mean come on, they're so careful not to discriminate against people, but do they think about the left handers? NO, of course not!
Seriously though, I'm glad at least something is not right handed. I never expected it, nor do I expect that in the future there will be a left hand option at character creation, but it would be cool, and since they're(apparently) adding the ability for duel wield pistols, it's obviously not difficult to show an object in the left hand...
All the cool people are left handed. Ok, so not really, butI gotta tell you, being a left hander works quite nicely when you're with a right handed girl.
Whoop! TMI? Probably not unless you take it in an unintended way. Have a good night, all! I need to get some major sleepage in.

It is a typical "Hollywood" mindset to have actors righthanded. If you weren't aware, Mark Hamill is left handed. Fortunately for him, however, he is also ambidextrous. Still, if you watch the Classic Trilogy carefully enough, you can catch him waffle a bit back and forth between his left and right hands in a few quick scenes (the one of Luke coming through that round tunnel in TESB in search of Vader comes to mind).
I am by nature right handed inRLbut also blessed to be ambidextrous
. My character, however, as an original fanfic creation is left handed . . . not so in SWG, though, where all are equally restricted to righthandedness!

Not that it's entirely relevant, but it's not the only thing you do that's left handed. The animation for looking at your watch (I forget the /command) shows you looking at your right wrist, which is where a left hander is supposed to wear his watch. Waving, like when you're saying hi, is done with the left hand. These are only two examples, but I get the impression that there are many left handed animations in the game.
