We have one on Intrepid. But let me give you the run down on some things. Currently we are in plans on major expansion as we are a very small guild for now and have been for months. We (the four founders) also run the city, museum, mall, our guild leader is currently one of hte most active Image Designers in Theed since the patch.

A couple of our other members have done gigs and things, but running the guild/city/museum/ mall alot of us have other goals to take to the server. While we all entertain and do a bit of it in our own home town, the true entertainer getting out to the cantinas and such, we'll set the sickness from dealing with hologrinders and afk bots in them later, has taken a bit more of a backseat then we would of liked.

After the fallout of the new jedi path comes forth, I think it will be alot easier to find the true non-afk entertainers. Within the next month we are hoping to do some BIG BIG things on the server to reward entertainers, ATK one ins particular, unfortunately I can't discuss that right here currently.

I just wanted you to be appraised of the backend headaches it can cause and take you away from what you may enjoy doing more. A few of our members are currently in the cantinas every day, but over all population wise it's a small percentage. Know what you are getting into and then enjoy it.

I started the LIVE (League of Invaluable Veteran Entertainers)Entertainment guild on Ahazi with the goals of providing quality, live entertainment to the galaxy, and of encouraging and training young entertainers to learn their crafts ATK from novice entertainer all the way to Master. I feared that with the hologrind, and theall too prominent sense that simply gaining a master's title is what makes an entertainer good or useful, that quality entertainers might one day be something fondly remembered but no longer in existence.

Is it worth it? It's definitely a lot of work, but it has been worth every minute of it for me.

There are a lot of players that remember the days before the Coronet/Theed experience of crowded entryways and random packs of "entertainers" who AFK and spam away. There are even a lot of newer players who never experienced the "good old days", but just know that the scene out there isn't what it could, or should, be. I have both personally, and second-hand, received a lot of praise (and donations of hard credits)from these players for undertaking the task of striving for an ATK entertainment galaxy.

Even now in the mess that is the AFK cantina, good fun can be had. LIVE has virtually taken over the Theed cantina on occasion, setting up with 8-10 muscicans and dancers in formation, with light shows, and really doing an honest live show. And yes, we've pulled patrons in from past the entryway doing this. Borrowing a great idea from the legendary Famous FatWOOKIEE Band (Ahazi's first and still activenon-AFK entertainer's guild), LIVE has set up in starports to do shows for people waiting for transports to ease that 10 minute waiting time. Even without our healing game mechanics, we're often tipped quite well as a show of appreciation for making that "time sink" a lot of fun for people. We've been booked for parties, events and weddings, and have all had a great time of it.

Recruiting for an anti-AFK entertainer's guild must be done with great care and caution in screening. There are two approaches that you can take - either recruit only unguilded Masters, or recruit promising new entertainers to train and develop into the next generation of great performers.

Without an existing reputation of excellence for your guild, it may be a bit more difficult to find existing masters... although they are out there. Many have retreated into seclusion from the current scene, and may be drawn out of retirement by the opportunity you provide.

If recruiting new entertainers, you will have to screen very carefully, and impress them greatly that actually performing ATK while leveling is to the benefit of not only themselves, but to the galaxy as a whole. Lead by example... train and teach some of the secrets of the craft that one could never learn while AFK. Make sure you're finding the right kind of people, with the patience and drive for excellence that your guild represents. There isa risk with newer entertainers that the pull of the Dark Side may prove too great, and they may fall to AFKing in order to level to mastery quickly. Look for signs of impatience in your recruits, and screen accordingly. It will be very difficult to develop a reputation for your guild as being non-AFK entertainers if your members are seen AFKing in public... and it can, and very well may, happen at some point. Screen well.

You'll have to make your no-AFK policy well known to your members and potential recruits, and stick by your guns. And you'll have to be willing to kick members from the guild if they are found to be AFKing, to preserve the guild's integrity. It can be a tough position to be in. If you hear reports that one of your members has been out AFKing, get the member's side of the story as well. Be fair, but you will have to be hard at times. Remember your goals, and defend those goals to the end.

Be ready to be small for a good long while. Being specialized as a non-AFK entertainer's guild means you're looking for qualityover quantity... but 7 of the right people can be so much more rewarding than 50 of the wrong ones. Take your time to develop, and you will develop well.

I hope that some or any of this has been of some additional help, and hope that you can find others of like-mind on Corbantis to support your vision of a brighter entertainment future on your server.

As a combat player that needs to frequent cantinas, this would be great.

My LEAST favorite part of playing (other than getting off the ship in Correlia and spending 10 minutes permanantly ignoring new spammers) is realizing my BF is getting out of hand and I have to head to the cantina.

Actualy player interaction, even a "hello" would be super.

Right now it's just depressing.

I'm really interested in this idea, as I just picked up entertainer on my character on Kauri, just to check it out, and I have to say, I love being a musician. I was thinking about how cool an all Entertainer guild would be, and here they are. If you're going to make a new guild on a new server, tell me what server and sign me up!
