Thread: Dancers in remote locations
I don't know about your server, but theed on flurry is actually pretty good for finding "live" entertainment. The main reason you won't fine a entertainer manning (or womanning) an outpost such as wayfar is, how many players actually visit the cantina there? Probably no more than a handful a day, most that go thru there are probably just clonning from out krayt hunting, and are in a rush to get back out there. While you may think it to be cool for someone to RP a lonely misserable entertainer stuck in wayfar, and infact some people do RP miserable people, generally they don't want to be really lonely and miserable when they do.
This is a game after all, we're supposed to have fun. Like the first poster said, entertainers tend to be social, they're gonna gravitate to where there are people to socialize with. Granted you have the whole "if you build it they will come" phenomenon, where if one entertainer were to tough it out in a remote location, people would begin to notice and start spending more time there, drawing in other entertainers and patrons until this remote location became quite lively. Such a phenomenon can take months of boring lonely dancing/playing by yourself in order to happen, if it happens at all. I'd wager all but a very select few would be willing to take such a risk.
I'm on Infinity, so the entertainers I see are in Coronet and Bestine (dunno about Naboo, that planet disgusts me).
I know it can probably be boring hanging out in a Cantina in a remote place waiting for someone to come by. But, hey you can advertise it on your boards! Or the server boards! Or on swg.allakhazam.com locations!
Personally I'm having so much communication from guildmates and others that finding a quiet relaxing Cantina would be a relief! Entertainers who have been on, and who like to socialize - I am sure most of the time then in Cantinas they just sit there sending tells and retells. Why not do it in a quiet location instead of in Coro Cantina ![]()
I'm not telling you guys what to do! Just want some actual entertainment..
I for one would certainly feel more compelled to actually /tip someone in a place like this! I can't speak for others, but maybe it's because there are so many dancers & kloo horn players in one place (often AFK) that makes people not tip? It's too easy just go in, watch, and go. I tipped in the beginning, then I stopped tipping AFK'ers, now I don't feel I need to tip much at all.
Perhaps other non-entertainers have a view on this as well? What would make you tip an entertainer?
