boy i been saying that from day one , my only guess is people don't REALLY care about entertaining its all about grinding your entertainer to master so you can buff your main mind for free

I don't know about your server, but theed on flurry is actually pretty good for finding "live" entertainment. The main reason you won't fine a entertainer manning (or womanning) an outpost such as wayfar is, how many players actually visit the cantina there? Probably no more than a handful a day, most that go thru there are probably just clonning from out krayt hunting, and are in a rush to get back out there. While you may think it to be cool for someone to RP a lonely misserable entertainer stuck in wayfar, and infact some people do RP miserable people, generally they don't want to be really lonely and miserable when they do.

This is a game after all, we're supposed to have fun. Like the first poster said, entertainers tend to be social, they're gonna gravitate to where there are people to socialize with. Granted you have the whole "if you build it they will come" phenomenon, where if one entertainer were to tough it out in a remote location, people would begin to notice and start spending more time there, drawing in other entertainers and patrons until this remote location became quite lively. Such a phenomenon can take months of boring lonely dancing/playing by yourself in order to happen, if it happens at all. I'd wager all but a very select few would be willing to take such a risk.

I'm on Infinity, so the entertainers I see are in Coronet and Bestine (dunno about Naboo, that planet disgusts me).

I know it can probably be boring hanging out in a Cantina in a remote place waiting for someone to come by. But, hey you can advertise it on your boards! Or the server boards! Or on swg.allakhazam.com locations!

Personally I'm having so much communication from guildmates and others that finding a quiet relaxing Cantina would be a relief! Entertainers who have been on, and who like to socialize - I am sure most of the time then in Cantinas they just sit there sending tells and retells. Why not do it in a quiet location instead of in Coro Cantina

I'm not telling you guys what to do! Just want some actual entertainment..

Why do I never see any dancers or musicians who find their "own" place?

Roleplaying characters! I mean I would love it if I always found the same dancer in the cantina of Wayfar for instance.

Then Id know that's where I should go to check her out and maybe roleplay a little. I mean I dont go to a cantina in Wayfar and expect to get rid of my Battle Fatigue - but maybe for some rp'ing..? Surely dancers and musicians must be more social than a TKM or a commando. By the way Im a smuggler and well I like to hang around in bars! If it was only people there, other than in Coronet.

I can define why in one word. "Income". They most likely have at least one home that needs maintenance and without generocity it would be boring. Also what happens in a day where none of your friends or guildmates are on? You would be bored out of gored also it's really hard to meet new people being crampt up in place like Wayfar where you get Jabba theme parkers and a few krayt hunters.

Eh, I went to Dathomir outpost last night...I set my playback droid to drone the bandfill on starwars3 while I did exotics. Got a little groove on. I got tipped enough to offset the cost of the shuttle ride and my action buffs. Oddly enough, not one person asked me for a buff the whole 2+ hours I was there. That doesn't really bother me too much, I wasn't doing it for the money. However, I know that I could have gotten a lot more in Coronet or Theed from buffing. I guess what made it not as fun really, was the fact that there weren't that many people that came in and out as I would have thought so it got kind of boring. I even found myself going afk for short lengths of time to read the boards. I think it was just a slow night though, for whatever reason. Usually places like dathomir and dantooine are good places to perform. But, those are places that aren't quite as sparsely populated with others. While I'd like to possibly go to the other even more sparsely populated areas, as others have brought up, it unfortunately gets very boring waiting for people to trickle in. Believe me, that's the only reason at all that I don't go there. I know that if there were a steady stream of people to talk to and interact with I'd be all about going to those places.

I for one would certainly feel more compelled to actually /tip someone in a place like this! I can't speak for others, but maybe it's because there are so many dancers & kloo horn players in one place (often AFK) that makes people not tip? It's too easy just go in, watch, and go. I tipped in the beginning, then I stopped tipping AFK'ers, now I don't feel I need to tip much at all.

Perhaps other non-entertainers have a view on this as well? What would make you tip an entertainer?

That is the thing about us Entertainers. The main thing we probably all have in common is the enjoyment of socializing with others. We may have tells and guild chats depending to keep us slightly entertained. There is the unique conversations you can have when you meetpeople for the first time as well as the flirting depending. If I'm sitting in say Agro Outpost on Dantooine I could wait for hours to get a single person that may say hello at best to get healed and leave. I will continue to stay in places like Theed where even through the AFK Spam I've been able to hold many conversations and have plenty of fun.
