Thread: Holocron Entertainers take a look! [From Novice to Master as fast as possible!]
Okay, my first Holo said that I needed Master Entertainer which was fine because my two alts are both entertainers (one Dancer, one Musician). This is a quick and easy way to grind this as fast as possible. I saw a sticky version of this, but I'd like to make a contribution
Image Design
By far the easiest and quickest. My Focus is 550 and my Willpower is 500. Changing my hair color takes 41 Mind and gives 12 Image Design XP. Using Muon Gold will reduce the mind cost to 20 per change. I had a Musician buff for about 400 and Muon once making my have about 1400 Focus/Willpower that reduced the Mind Cost to only 3 and my regen was so fast the Mind bar never went down.
The Macro for ID is:
/image self;
/imagedesignSetValue self hair_color 10;
/ui action toolbarSlot23;
This is set up for changing your hair color to Black (change the 10 to another number for another color) and the macro needs to be placed on the Shift+F12 button (that's the second row). Change toolbarSlot23 to toolbarSlot00 if you want to place it in the F1 toolbar slot.
NOTE: To stop a looping macro, use the command /dump
When the macro is activated, you just need to place your cursor over the accept button and left click as fast as possible. You'll hit 2000 xp very fast, so make sure you do this by a trainer. With a Musician buff and Muon, you should have this done in NO TIME at all. I'm not talking in a matter of hours, I mean really really fast. You'll be slowed down by the 2 minute downer on Muon every so often, but use that time to grind Musician...
Musician:
Well, I thought this was the same as Dancer, but I was wrong. You can craft grind to Musician IV a lot faster than playing music (and thus not have to be in a cantina). Crafting a Slitherhorn takes 45 Metal (any kind) and gives a bit over 90 Musician XP in practice mode. The Slitherhorn is simple, so you'll only have a 15sec or so timer on each craft. Get a stack of Metal (a bit under 40k units) that you don't need and get some Generic Crafting Tools (four should suffice if you're fast). Then, it's time to set up a Macro. The way I do it is put the tools in the Shift+F1 through Shift+F4 slots and then set up 5 macros in the F1-F5 slots.
Macro for F1:
/ui action toolbarSlot12;
/select 0;
Macro for F2:
/ui action toolbarSlot13;
/select 0;
Macro for F3:
/ui action toolbarSlot14;
/select 0;
Macro for F4:
/ui action toolbarSlot15;
/select 0;
Macro for F5:
/nextCraftingstage;
/nextCraftingstage;
/nextCraftingstage;
/createPrototype no item;
/createPrototype no item;
NOTE: If /select 0 doesn't bring up the Slitherhorn, then try /select 1, /select 2, etc until you find it.
All you do is press F1, double click your metal a couple times, then press F5. Then, while the 15 sec timer is going on the first tool, press F2, double click your metal a couple times, then press F5 again. Repeat until you've gotten up to Musicianship IV.
Dancer:
Pure and simple the slowest branch. Just buff your Quickness and Stamina, get into a group of 20 in a cantina, and then wait...
Macro for Dancer:
/startdance rhythmic;
/join;
/flo 1;
/pause 10;
/flo 2;
/pause 10;
/flo 3;
/pause 10;
/flo 4;
/pause 10;
/flo 5;
/pause 10;
/flo 6;
/pause 10;
/flo 7;
/pause 10;
/flo 8;
/pause 10;
/ui action toolbarSlot23;
Again, the toolbarSlot23 is for Shift+F12, toolbarSlot00 is for F1.
Just let this macro run and you can chat with the people in your group or in the cantina or even go do something in RL if need be. I found that Dancing while sleeping works wonders!
While dancing, you should get your Entertainer Healing XP done too. To get Ent Healing XP, somebody in your group needs to be curing Battle Fatigue or Mind Wounds while dance/song. To rig up a person to get healed, get a Combat Medic to mind disease a lot of people (including the band members. I think it helps) and have them listen. If you can't find a CM, then have an Artisan go out an /sample a lot of Radioactives to build up a lot of Battle Fatigue.
You can finish the ID, Musician, and Entertainer Healing branches within a few hours (up to a full day of playing). The Dancer part will take the longest and if you dance during the day, and over night, and the next day you could finish it without much problem. Getting in a full group is KEY to doing Dancer A.S.A.P.
I hope this thread answers any questions than anyone has. Feel free to comment, correct, add to, question, or bump this thread.
Enjoy!

oh, if only you'd made your last name Mahler. That would have been cool. .. . or something.
What's Mahler?
Mahler, he wrote symphonies. With good trumpet parts too.
I think he's Austrian, I got a C in my second music history class.
Wow this is an amazing summery of everything I needed! Thats a lot.

I'm glad it helped, that's what I'm here for ![]()
Also, I didn't mention it in the post I don't think, but make sure that the /startdance rhythmic; part of the dance macro is updated with each new dance. So, change it to /startdance basic2; or /startdance footloose; when you get those dances.
Any pros out there feel free to add to this.
Also, if people want this to be sticky, I can re-write it if need be (to fix typos, etc).
Two questions
1. What does the /join command do for you, in the Dancer Macro?
2. Also at the end of the macro what is the point of the /ui action command, does it restart the Macro?
Thanks

The /join Command in the macro is in case you're in a group that get disbanded/reformed because the leader went AFK and someone need an invite, etc. A lot of times you'll get back to the keyboard and see a "so-and-so has invited you to..." message that's a few hours old and you've been missing out on a lot of Ent Healing XP. This way, you do the /join command every so often to make sure you're getting that xp.
And yes, the /ui action command loops the macro. what it does is 'press' the hotbar key that you should place your macro in. I use the Shift+F12 slot mostly. Since the macro will loop forever, you can go to sleep while dancing and get that branch out of the way or chat freely with everyone in the group/cantina. It's up to you how you use it.

Btw I found out while trying to give this macro to a Wookiee friend that they cant use the Image Design macro until they get 2-0-0-0 because they have no hair to color. For them they will have to type in eye_color instead of hair_color. The Eye color is the first option available for the wookiees... **edit** imperial bias.
Yeah, I wasn't thinking about race... I think zarbraks have to do horns and rodians have to do frills and so on.
On a side note, I'm not Imperial I just chose that icon because it looks better than the other choice in my opinion
I'm actually Covert Rebel, but that red color is just too much...

Any sugestions?

Yeah, I've heard that Wookies and Mon Cals do not have any form of 'hair' that can be IDed until ID 2.
This means that you'll have to get a buddy/guinea pig to click "Accept" a lot instead of you. The good side is that you'll get 4x the xp than by doing it on yourself.
Make sure to take the 'self' out of the macro so that it works on your target.
Hope that helps, let me know if there is any other tweaking I need to do to the macro for using it on a friend. The one I have is for soloing as a human (and I think that Rodians, Trandos, Twi's, Zabraks, etc can do something for hair be it frills or horns).
