I just started a new character, and I'm having him work his way up the ranks of musician. As a RL musician, I'm really loving the challenge of being creative in such a pre-fab musical environment like SWG. So, I'd like to start a little combo and mess with this a bit more.
Here are some of the ideas I have with this project:
- I'd like to applysome RL jazz techniques to performance in SWG (don't worry if you don't know about jazz or any other type of music, I'll teach you what I mean, and in this enviroment it'll be pretty easy)
- Since I only know a few songs so far, I'd like us to be an 'opening act' for some of the bigger, more established bands at parties or RP events
- At a minimum, we should all know the 'Starwars2' song.
- I'd like to keep the combo pretty small at first:
- No more than four horns (including myself)
- A bandfill/omnibox player
- No more than four horns (including myself)
- I'll provide some band uniforms for performance, as I know quite a few excellent tailors.
- We can help each other learn more about the musician profession and just have a good group to hang with when we're getting xp.
If this is something you think you'd be interested in, contact Obed or Isshtobuck ingame. Or post here. Even if you're part of an existing band/entertainer guild, feel free to check this out. I'm not looking to form a guild, just a combo to jam with. At the minimum, you'll have some good times and learn a bit about jazz.

I'd be more than happy to be a part of this.
Eventually I want my musician to perform as a band under his own stage name, but until then, some of the best times I've had in this game were as part of a performance group, either dancing or playing music.
Just contact the name on your Fizzz or Fanfar.

That's a great idea, Obed. I think being an opening act is also a novel idea.
Anyway, I'm willing to help out with some songs if I can. Drygo's a Master Dancer/Master Entertainer. So, I only know up through Ceremonial and the Mandovial. (I have had experience up through Knowledge III at some point.)
However, when I open my second slot, I plan to make that toon a musician who will know all songs and play all instruments except for the Nalargon and Virtuoso. There could be some kind of RP of Drygo leaving, new guy coming in, with the benefit of the same person between the two avatars, so the practice and routines will already be known by the "new guy."
Anyway, if you're interested send Drygo an email in game. I have to warn you though that work takes up a lot of my time right now, but it will lighten up when the winter's over hopefully.

Good Job Obed, I hope you will keep me informed on your progress. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
I hope you let me showcase your act at EU some Saturday night when you are ready

Saturdays tend to be real up-in-the-air for me... but if I can work something out schedule-wise, I'd love to play there!

Sweet! We are now a quartet! Plus, on the Kette forums, I've got a possible singer/dancer and a guest singer/mando player offering.

Speciesist! There had to be a catch....
But in seriousness, it's awesome to see people excited about getting a band together. It's something I've never found enough Musicians on Tempest to be able to pull off, but something I've wanted to do for a while

And it would be silly if I had a bunch ofWookiee smocksmade for Rodians!
For me, musician would be no fun without folks to jam with. Especially at the lower levels (where I am).
