After a six month hiatus, I have returned to SWG, resolved to never again AFK after seeing the effect it had on the entertainment professions overall before I left. I'm definitely not proud to say that I did AFK to Master Musician, though I never was a buffbot, and it was for the fun of the music at master, not for buffing.
Anyways, returning with determination, I found myself in a ghost town on my old server. Even in the most packed cantinas, there were only ten or so people, nine of them AFK. I missed the social aspect of SWG (hence why I left WoW... Wasn't very MMORPGish... it was more like an FPS Multiplayer... Bleh), and I want it back.
I'm taking a more casual approach to the game, taking it slower and having fun with it instead of grinding. I will never AFK again, as I've implied, but it can't be emphasized enough. (/slap self). I even make a point of spamming invites at AFK buffbots in cantinas under the pretense that it's for the XP boost.
Anyways, onto the point: I need people to socialize with while I'm jamming away on SW1 and Rock...

I'm looking for a server or city with a strong entertainer base, quite simply. I want to be able to find groups who will delve into a deeper conversation than "1'|\/| 73H 53CK51! 71PZ PLZ!" or "Heal me!" And I want to be able to find them on a consistent basis (I'm going to master all four entertainment professions if all ends well.)
Any suggestions?

Corbantis has a fairly "large" live entertainer population, although not well represented on these boards hehe. There were alot more of us a few weeks ago but generally we have 10 to 15 that can be gathered together fairly easily. Several have opened cantinas lately and we tend to organize in these instead of outside Theed these days. Be glad to give you some names to contact if you decide on Corbantis. If you do, send Elwyn or Imaji a tell or email and we'll get you introdueced to all the "right" people LOL (really was kidding as I don't pretend to know half the wonderful entertainers on Corbantis). Other than that I guess Bria is well represented here on the forums more than any other server.

We would love to have you join us on Corbantis. Imaji and I are on most evenings (eastern/central time US) and we can help get you going. Yes we do have a very good group of live entertainers. For healing experience you will need to endure a few days in the big NPC cantinas but otherwise we have some great live ents on our server. Give us a shout.

Corbantis is definitely the best entertainer experience I have had. I've been gone for about a month because of school stuff, but i'm back now and while many of the people that I knew are gone there are plenty of others. We have a great time. No one nagging for tips or buffs or spam. (except the occasional force sensitive booty shaker giving out the Force Sensitive bootyshake 1 every now and then ^_^)
It's a great group though.
