Hello Folks,

Here are upcoming fixes/additions heading your way! These should be hitting Test Center in the next few days =)

  • 2 new songs (Starwars4 and Funk) and 4 new dances (Tumble, Tumble2, Breakdance, and Breakdance2) added to the Dancer and Musician skill tree.
  • Dances that move around the floor will animate properly to observers.
  • Removal of the timers for Body and Cosmetic changes for Image Designers (this is done in preparation for the Combat Upgrade)
  • Removal of falling mistakes when dancing
  • Image Designer points will be reduced by 16 skill points so that the ability to master dancer, musician and image designer can be obtained.
  • The 15 second delay between stopping one performance and starting a new one will be removed for dancers and musicians.

Please post your feedback in the official thread or here.

So long as AFK continues, our professions continue to die and become jokes in SWG.

This does nothing to help us, this gives bots more to play with.

I appreciate each and every improvement that comes our way, but these are not "positive changes."

These are LONG OVERDUE fixes and updates to us.

Bottom line: disappointed.

This game deserves better.

Reposted here from another thread:

One thing at a time. They obviously hear us and are working to appease us. I applaud the changes and am delighted to see them...and a little excited. That there are changes instead of the continued blank stare indicates that we are not as ignored as some would have us believe.

One thing at a time. I am anti-bot, just like the rest of you, and I believe the bot days are numbered, but I have seen great things coming from behind the scenes and into the light in the past few months. I will continue to hold out hope that the bots will go the way of the dodo bird. In the meantime though, I plan to enjoy the game and the new changes.

Maybe I am being overly optimistic, I suppose I could be seen that way. I just prefer to enjoy what I DO have while I have it and not let the negative get me down. I see these changes asa step in the right direction, I applaud them, and I will enjoy them, and I will hold out hope that they are just a step on the path and not the arrival at a destination. I look forward to future changes and pray bot removal is one of them.

I agree with you 100%

I grow sick and tired of walking into a cantina only to be bogged down by an army of AFK macrotainers right at the entrance. I only tip those who actually greet me and engage in live dialogue. Those who don't respond to a spatial greeting, or a /tell are not getting a single credit from me. If they want a tip, they need to BE there behind the keyboard earning it.

Furthermore, Every player city I visit that has a cantina has one that is lavishly deccorated, but there is NEVER anyone there. Most Player Cities are well witnin range of hunting areas that combat players go for. But there really is no incentive for someone with battle fatigue or mind damage to go to any player cities for entertainer healing when they know that they can find macrobots in every official city. And likewise, there is no real incentive for players serious about their entertainer profession to go out to player-run cantinas, when they know that 9 times out of 10 those cantinas will be empty.

The only entertainer missions I see direct players to official cities. I want to see entertainer missions send players out to player city cantinas. I want to see Cantina terminals which allow the owner to post those missions.

I want to see an option in both player-run medical centers and cantinas to turn live play enforcement on. Every 30 minutes, a dialogue box similar to the one used in destroying a structure will pop up for everyone in there. This dialogue box needs to be prioritized in the foreground, so it cannot be burried under any other windows and cannot be closed without being the player being seen as failing to respond. Give a 60 second timer to respond. If the code is not entered correctly within the 60 second window, the game needs to force a /dump on the player. This will render macroing in any form from working beyond 30 minutes. It will ensure that those entertainer and doctor characters are actually being controlled by someone with a pulse. I also want to see this enforced in official cantinas as well.

The same thing needs to be applied to players who like to AFK macro-sample resources. Except in this case, a /reportafk command is needed. This will cause the same kind of confirmation protocol to pop up on the player's screen. A target must be selected, and a check must be performed on that target to see if he is in sample resource mode. If the player fails to respond, then a /dump command is forced on him, thus breaking any macros he was running.

New music and new dances are cool.

I do not believe that the falling animation needs to be removed from the dance flourishes. In fact, I would like to see it implemented as an animation for a failed flourish attempt. I would also like to see a bad note failed musician flourish. A master musician or dancer would never fail a flourish, but anything less than a master runs a chance of failing one. This way, One could see an entertainer getting better and better as time goes by. It would also add some depth to the entertainer aspect of the game.

The failed musician's flourish could be something likeplaying half ofthe normal play loop off-key, and the character do something like cringe at his mistake.

Just some thoughts...

SWG gives us choices, alright. It's like "What do you want, the Gray Food with the Brown Sauce or the Brown Food with the Gray Sauce?" And, with the expertise system, both options are now served with Green Chunks...

Actually, last time I checked, the mission terminals did randomly spawn missions for PC cantinas, but it would definetly be nice if all the missions were a little more... developed.

I have gotten Entertainer Missions to player cantinas on several occasions... maybe it's because I have given them more of a chance... I know many peopledon'tbother because the payout is so low.

Actually, we musicians have our 'failed flourishes' too... in a way
When a little wind of lag happends, you often go totally out of synchro with other members of the group, resulting in quite an awful disharmony

I'd personnaly wish the fall down stuff to be switchable by a command or something (reserved to master dancers ), complete removal of the falling would be kinda sad in my humble opinion.

What I think would be good is if a cantina owner who is also at least a novice merchant were to be able to use his cantina's admin terminal to commission entertainers and front the cash. doing so would add the mission to entertainer mission terminals which anyone can take like usual. Only the player economy would feed such missions.

A cap on the minimum amount of money that can be offered for a gig should be in effect. It also should require longer performance times than the typical main city cantina/theatre missions. So the payout would be more, but they would have to perform longer to earn it. A balance needs to be struck somewhere soas to not remove official city cantinas and theatres from consideration for entertainers. If they want to get their payouts quicker but cheaper, take a standard mission. If they want to get them slower but better, then player-created missions should be possible.

There need to be more ways to encourage people to go to player cities. There are a bunch of them loaded with cool stuff that a lot of people don't even know about because there is no real reason to go there. Player events are cool, but as I have heard, are hard to organize and even harder to get people to come to. Having actual in-game systems directing players to player cities will introduce more people to the different cities out there. And while they are in town, they could actually look around and maybe do a little business there.

I like this idea a lot. If I knew that actual players were putting entertainer missions on the terminals, and I could easily find such a thing, and the person placing the mission made it worthwhile, I would love to do something like that. Obviously, nobody would randomly place a mission on a terminal for no reason. But, it might be nice if a guild or city might like to populate it's player city cantina with healers and buffers. It would give real incentive for an entertainer to go there if he/she knows that there may be a lot of traffic in and out on a particular day. It would help combat players and entertainers find each other. Win/win situation.

This is a great idea and I would love to do player cantinas. However, out of the last 30 or so entertainer missions I have taken, 8 of them were player cantinas, and 5 of them were closed to me They need to only put player cantinas that are actually open to the public on the missions. Very aggravating to spend vehicle maintenance and/or shuttle fare to my mission, only to find out I can't complete it because I can't even enter the building!

It would be nice if we could master a combat skill as well. I like being dancer/image designer but i want to be a pilot or rifleman as well.
