I boughta Fanfar this morning because I had become a musician 3 the previous night. I was hoping it would be awsome but for some reason when I played it, it sounded EXACTLY like the sitherhorn. I thought maybe they were alittle different but no. EXEACTLY the same... Why?? A bug?? Did the guy rip me off and make a sitherhorn that looks like a fanfar?

Someone please answer this.

Thanks

No he didn't rip you off. The difference is that the Fanfar gives you more exp. Not all the new instruments sound different from the old ones, but they will always give you more exp. So keep on blowin' that Fanfar.

Sounds different to me, but then again I've not used the Slitherhorn for a couple days. Fizzz sounded like an excellent trumpet & sax. The Fanfar sounds like just a sax. The Slitherhorn from what I remember soudned like a 3 horn trumpet and clarient or oboe, can't quiet decipher it to earthly terms .

Definitley gonna check when I get home .

Ttaorluath - As far I've seen the more XP just comes with better songs. I may be wrong but I dont think Instruments have much to do with the XP gainined.

And this brings up another question. Does the Kloo horn sound exactly the same as the Fizz?

Sollion - I'm guessing the reason it sounds different to you is because you're playing it with higher level songs. If you've ever played your slitherhorn on the higher level songs or the Fanfar on lower ones you'll hear that they're the same. Many of the instruments sound the same and the only other ones with a unique sound are the Mandiovol, Omnibox & Nagalorn.

As far as exp is concerned, you get exp for the maximum level song or instrument played. So yes, it does make a difference. Play starwars1 with a slitherhorn, then play it with your fanfar. You'll get considerably more exp with the fanfar even though it sounds the same.

While you do get more xp for the instrument, you won't get the same xp that you'll get with your highest song and highest instrument together. Just wanted to clear that up for some, it's not or, it's and (maximum xp = highest inst. and song).

That should not be the case. It's a bug if it's working that way. Personally, I have not seen that effect, but I have seen the "or" case working.

Pendarin you are correct, sorry about that. I found that someone was always listening to me the times I spent playing the highest of both. When I took the time to test it out in the middle of nowhere with nobody around the "or" case is indeed correct. Sorry about the misinformation guys :/

Basically there are 2 different types of horns.

When you get new horns ... its basically an upgrade to one of the previous horns and yes the upgrades only give you better xp ... the sound the same to the one it upgrades.
