Thread: Shouldn't all tips be split into a group?
I think one person should be the tip spokesmen and all tips should get split like money does on group missions. After all that is what entertaining in the cantina is all about. A group/band making money with each other to help out their fellow person(s).
Shouldn't money be split for the group, instead of having everyone complaining, asking, even beggingfor tips? I swear that is the most annoying topic to listen too.
I got a 100 credit tip for playing for 2 hours. While I wasn't complaining, begging or even asking for tips for myself, I felt lucky to make the money, but how am I supposed toadvance for 100 credits a night?I will not beg for tips.. I find it more annoying than anything else.
It needs to be a toggleable option by the band leader. Sometimes you're in a pick up band and you don't want to split tips. Sometimes you're in a regular band with members you know well, that's cool. Giggin'
Other times the person tipping only wants to tip one person.
So a /bandtip command that only works when it's turned on by the leader is my suggestion. Automatic or enforced splits are bad.
If someone wants to tipsplit they are usually smart enough to count out the group and divide what they have accordingly. But they know a lot of people are afk, or arent really interested.
Group split will only cause more solo entertaining. It is not the solution to few tips.
You try getting tips as a male musician... i could chat and joke all day, and flirt with the occasional girl, but i still dont get tips worth a **edit**. Why, might you ask? Because most of the people who tip big are horny teenagers who just want to see near naked women dancing. They dont even notice that the music is making it even better or whatnot, just that the shes there and shes flirting.
I would still like to see a sort of split option. Maybe 50 percent to the individual, 50 percent split to the group. This would make it so the individual would get a good portion, while the band members would get at least alittle. The band is ALWAYS overlooked, considering they arent worth tipping if a female dancer would flirt and get more suggestive for it instead.
I would like to see an option given to the tippee to let them tip the group vs tip an individual. Trying to locate every member of a band in a crowded cantina can be difficult and it's easier for the tipee to just give a tip to the dancer closest to them (I say dancer because normally the dancers are in front of the customers with the musicians behind them).
I don't think that having an option to force tips being split among the group is a good thing. Many times we are tipped for things other than performing ~ mind outa the gutter there I meant training ~ If I'm paying the top dancer in the group 4k to train me I want her to get it all. And enforcing split tips would just cause the *cough* exotic dancers to leave the group thus decreasing both the tips and the experience gained from a larger group.
If SWG would incorporate the EQ /split option that would assist us as well since we could when personally tipped just type /split 100 or whatever and everyone in the group would get a portion.
if the entertainers chat with me or even say hello to me when i walk in they get my attention and they will be the first person i watch or listen to. they will get my tip. if they feel it necessary that person can split the tip with their group members.
if the whole band is active and i feel welcome there with hellos and such, each person will get their own tips.
i have no problem making money and i have no qualms on spending it.
i have a problem with group autosplit as to i dont want an AFK entertainer getting an equal share of an entertainer who is talkative and flourishing like a madman/woman.
in conclusion:
-active entertainerswho talk and greet their customers and do the job of an entertainer(flourishing mixing it up): gets the biggest tip (tips of 200-2000+ credits/visit/person)
-active entertainerswho are quiet or kinda talkand still do the job as an entertainer: gets a decent tip (tips of 100-200 credits/visit/person)
-AFK entertainers who are macroed and such (yes i do let people know if they have the AFK tag over their head to see if they are AFK or not): gets a small tip (20-75 credits/visit...not very good in my opinion)
