This works especially well for entertainers but I expect others will find it useful.

For entertainers the messages appearing in your chat window in white are the system messages. Every flourish results in three messages - 1 for mus/dance xp, 1 for ent heal xp, 1 for the flourish itself. This fills up the spatial chat window really fast. Tips are also system messages and shop up in white too.

I have moved my system messages to another chat window and changed the color of words relating to tips. I then removed system messages from the spatial chat window. Makes chatting and thanking for tips much easier all around, and you can scroll back through the system messages when it's not busy to make sure that you didn't miss thanking for a tip. Here's how to set it up:

First, right click on a chat tab and select Add New Tab. Right click on the new tab and change name to whatever you want. Right click on the new tab again and select Modify. On the left are the types of messages to include inthe chat tab. Select System Messages and click on the right arrow in the middle. This chat window will now show just system messages. Click and drag on your new tab to somewhere out of the way on your screen and resize if necessary.

Second, right click on the spatial chat tab and select Modify. On the right are the items that display in the spatial chat. Click on system messages and then the left arrow and system messages will no longer show in spatial chat.

Last, go into the options menu and select chat colors. In thetext area (near bottom - sorry can't remember the exact name but only place to type in text) type in the word 'tips' (without the quotes), click a color from the box above (red works well for me), and click on the Word Colorization button. The word tips will now show in red for all chat windows. Do the same thing with 'you', 'credits', and 'bank'.

Voila things should be much easier now. Once you set it up it stays that way until you change it - logging off has no effect.

I sent a screen shot of my setup (taken from your suggestions mainly) to some buddies of mine on Chilastra, we're all musicians. I didn't give you credit cause I couldn't remember which thread I had read about it. I'm sure you're not upset ^_^

I did however point them to these forums. Excellent suggestions, they have helped out my gaming experience a lot.

Good chance this breaks your macro timing. Change the delay by several factors to correct this.

Great idea. I hate not being able to thank people who tip me because the message went by too fast.

Or you can put in "tips you" and click the sentance button and the whole sentance and only those that have that word orderw"ill show up as that color.

I also did it for "heals you"

Thanx Aziz - i never though of that but i'm not doing anything fancy with macros yet - just set up 3 of them with different patterns and run them at random right now and in combo- I haven't had anytime yet to go off and experiment on them - but i'll keep it in mind.

Why does this happen? I noticed that a 5 second pause takes about 2 seconds max since I messed around with all this.. whats causing it?
