Thread: Tipping...who gets the money...a tipper wants to know

If the band is grouped, and you tip one, does the whole group split the money? I always tip 2x in credits my BF. But I have always wondered if it is a band playing, does only one person get the money? I assumed so...but thought I ought to check...

Technically it is the person you tip that receives the money only. If they have agreed with the group to split tips, then they can manually share out the tip between them, but there is currently no in game facility for this to happen automatically.


My policy is if I am tipped, the tip is mine unless the person tipping tells me to share it with the group in which case I do. Also, if I get a large tip I check with the tipper whether they intend all the money for me or for sharing with the band.


There is much discussion on the boards about the best option of /tip and possiblt /tipband.

i really like the idea of tipping a min of 2xBF! if more people did that there would be a LOT less disgruntled entertainers out there. as far as having to tip each band member individually, that can be tedious. especially when some bands have more than 5 people in them. highest i was ever in was 10 on a crowded night in the cantina in Tyrena. try using /tipband. i am usually the tippee not the tipper so i don't know if this command splits the amount you specify or if it multiplies it by how many members are in the band. my guess would be the former.

Most entertainers will dole out a tip to the rest of the group if the request is made by the tipper. However, I recommend you give the money to an entertainer you trust, and make the request out loud instead of in a tell.

Yea thats a great idea. Cause I get easily frustrated trying to tip every member in a huge group. From now I'll say in spatial "thanks for the healing entertainers...2000 credits split it up *name*"


Then that person can split it if they want ...lol.


Your correspondent should have /tipband or /tipgroup at the top of his/her list though.
