Thread: Tip me you fool: Part I What type of tipper are you?
Hi! I just put up my second installment of Gamer Girl with the above topic
Thank you to all I've been harassing for quotes, you may see yours in upcoming weeks.
Please take a peek and tell me what you think. Part II will be "What kind of performer are you?" (the tipee's point of view). If you would be ok with me quoting from your post (should you post anything) please let me know ![]()

Nice article, Kwee.
I've been thinking a lot about tippingrecently, and whereas my entertainer character always used to say 'tips appreciated but never expected!' every now and again, I'm now just going to say nothing, and make no comment (well, maybe bitchy commentsto the band using /gs!). Of course, I'll always thank someone in person who does tip me (I'm equally grateful for a 15 cred tip or a 1000 cred one - the fact that someone has acknowledged my presence and is 'playing the game' is reward enough).
All of my characters tip entertainers and, if they can afford it, tip PCs who train them for half of the NPC training cost. The other night someone asked me if I could train them in whatever, and I did so and when it was clear they weren't going to tip meI walked off /whispering 'Cheapskate...' (in-character, of course). I got a tell from them saying something like 'Heh - no-one pays for those basic skills, dude. Good job I didn't charge you a fee for walking around me town.'
So now I'mcoming round tothe idea of building up a culture of tipping by my own avatar's actions rather than by asking for them. I quite like the sound of that.
Looking forward to the next part of your article, and feel free to quote anything.
