Thread: Instrument and Musician question
I just started advancing up the Musicianship skill list, and got my hands on a fizzz. I notice that, regardless of what I play, if I do 2 flourishes back-to-back I get about double the points with less downtime than if I did individual flourishes. Doing 3 did not yield me 3 times the individual XP. Is everyone else finding this out as well?
Also, does the instrument you play influence how many XP you get, or is it just the group size that you're in and how many people are watching?
Two flourishes in a row gives you the best XP. This may or may not be a bug but it's how things work.
XP is influenced by three things:
1) Song/Instrument - You get XP equal to the highest of the song you play or the instrument you use. If you just qualified for Kloo horn, then you can play starwars1 with a kloo and still get max XP for it. Or play Folk with a slither.
2) Group size - The bigger the group of entertainers, the more XP. However, you only get XP for the ones that are actively dancing and playing.
3) Audience size/participation - The bigger the audience that is watching and listening, the more your XP. Theoretically, you also get more when they applaud and cheer but it's not something that anyone I know has bothered to try and measure.
I believe that /applaud and /cheer only prevent you from dropping down in xp. For instance, if you did two flourishes for your max xp of 20, every tick after that it would drop down by a little bit. Say 18...16 etc etc. If someone was to applaud or cheer for you during that time that you were given 18 xp, your next tick you will still get 18 instead of dropping down.
