Maybe if ME's could dance while playing an instrument (one man band style) and got exp both ways. They would not get their very own special song , and the only stringed instrument.

Heck, give them a different instrument (i.e. tamborine)

Frankly, whatever "alternative" that was implemented to take Mando and Ceremonial away from ME would either be better or worse or equal to Mando and Ceremonial.

If there was something BETTER than the Mando and Ceremonial then not all entertainers would agree that ME should get it. If it's better, why not give it to the masters of elite professions?

If there was something worse, then obviously the MEs would not want it to replace the mando and ceremonial.

If there is something equal then we are still in the same boat. ME's can have it and MM's want it (if it's equal). So there are disagreements.

If nothing was currently implemented then I'd say this is a brilliant idea. It's still a good idea, but ME's already DO get the Mando and Ceremonial, and to make a change to that I think there would have to be unanimous support from the players, and realistically that is not going to happen.

Also, there is a certain coolness to the mando because

1) it looks like a guitar (but rarely sounds like one)

2) it is different than the other instruments in sound and animation. Unique like the nala

3) It is rare.

Take number 3 away and you've just made the mando less cool. Keeping it as an ME instrument will keep it rare. "You only want what you can't have" is a good quote....once MM's got the mandoviol, I have to think a lot of them wouldn't really care any more.
