Thread: Help Support a New Class Idea!

I had a Master Fencer once and I accedently deleted him. Then I brought him back as an Entertainer Swordsman. I realised that I still want to get my hands dirty and do things with groups!
Usualy all of us High-Level Master Musicians/Dancers are usless on the battlefield unless we pick up a intermediate fighting skill and when we are not fighting we are dodging the heavy fire from people.

I was watching an old movie about the civil war, when the idea hit me. Why not create a Etertainment class thats MENT to go into battle! I did a little research on the subject and came up with tons of positive results!
Entertainment on the battlefield has been going on for ages and so why not continue it on here!


Name: Battle Entertainer


Profession: Master Entertainer


Ideal Usage: Simmilar to the Combat Medic, but used in battle to "Buff" or up a groups mind.

Example of skill layout-




    • Novice Battle Entertainer
      -Ranged Playing Distance

    • -Intermediate Ranged PlayingEffectivness
      Skill points required: 5
      XP Required: 10000
      + 15 Healing Range
      +15 Ranged PlayingEffectivness

    • -Advanced Ranged Playing Effectiveness
      Skill points required:4
      XP Required: 20000
      +15 Ranged PlayingEffectivness
      + 15 Healing Range

    • -Expert Playing Effectiveness
      Skill points required:3
      XP Required: 30000
      + 15 Healing Range
      +15 Ranged PlayingEffectivness

    • -Master Playing Effectiveness(Garífuna Drummer)
      Skill points required:2
      XP Required:40000
      + 15Ranged Playing Effectivness
      + 15 Healing Range

      -Ranged Playing Rhythm

    • -IntermediatePlaying Rhythm
      Skillpoints required: 5
      XP Required 10000
      +5Stready March
      +5 Mind Regen
      [Steady Match] - (Groupburst run effectivness)








You guys get the point,The player would be anything fromaKodo Drummer toan old fasion CivilWar Style Drummer. Maybe even flutes or other instruments, but in my imagination I can think up some cool beats that would get the group in the mood for fighting.

Overall I would like to see theBattleMusician be able to,

-Have a regen of mind fasterthan normal rate; Medics heal Action and Health on the field, why cant we heal mind?

-Have action pool be drained fast, therefore eitherMedics have to heal you or the players. (Stops Exploit)

- Add Buffs to Mind as long as one is in a group playing

- Have otherskills such as Steady March orother such things.

- Be able toraisestats on players, (Ie.A command (or song) that would keep Brawlers in Beserk mode longer) or other such things.


Well, I cant wait to hear the C&C! So post your idea's and what not!

Terrible idea. Empty cantinas everywhere.


I believe the bard idea has been brought up many times and giving it a different name will not make it happen.


And to the Master Entertainer who gets killed by Womp Rats (baby). You will still need to start the Battle Entertainer from the beginning, none of your entertainer skills will do anything. Just like if you had to pick up Novice Marksmanship. If you want to fight, add combat class and begin working these skills. I believe Womp Rats are a horrible creature to start with. Not only are they fairly tough, even for babies, but Womp Rats BAF. Try a different creature like the Rill.

Great idea. EQ had bards we can have Drummerboys! Well, you get my drift... And Cantinas wouldn't be empty, I would sugest that you would be able to heal mind points in battle but not wounds of bf. There will still be people in cantinas b/c some people just don't like battles. You know?

and maybe it could be an elite class like master marksmen + master entertainer you know? then it branch out from there...

Nice idea, but the devs have stated that they don't want entertainers to become bard classes... that's what the Squad Leader class is for. Have to say I kinda agree with them, since I don't think barding really fits in with Star Wars...

well, I stated it could be like bard, not bard but like it, and they could heal mind poionts... like in a battle and someone is taking mind shots? so y ou can keep them fighting longer.
