Thread: Macro Bandflourishes
Oh where to begin...
were you looping?
did you make a whole new macro?
if not did you clear the flourishes?
did you multi click the macro button?
You're goint to have to give us more to work with to debug your code
A given entertainer can only have (IIRC) 5 flourishcommands queued up. This counts both your own personal flourishes and any /bandflourishes that get sent to you. So if your bandmate had a macro going, he/she would only be able to take a few bandflourishes before filling up the queue. Also, it doesn't look like you have any /pauses in your macro. If you have a full queue and you execute /bandflourish, it just gets ignored. But if you send8 /band commands, the last ones will generate the "list too full" message for the others in the group.
So to make this work:
1) Make sure everyone's command queue is empty and they don't have a macro going. /dumpPausedCommands is useful to clear out any long-running ones (just /dump also works).
2) Space out the /band commands with /pauses. The flourishes are set up to be about5 seconds each (this seems to vary slightly between songs), so doing "/band 1; /band 2; /pause 10; /band 6; ..." is the best way to go.
Some notes about /bandflourish that you may or may not be aware of:
* Only the performer giving the /band command gets any xp, but it uses up action from everyone. Since this sounds like you're just putting together a PA performance its not that big of a deal, but it's rude to do /band in a casual group--such as in a cantina--without arranging things beforehand.
* You can mix things up a bit by specifying instrument types in the /band command. For example:
/band 7 slitherhorn; /band 7 fanfar; /band 4 fizz; /band 4 kloo
All the slitherhorns and fanfars will do flourish 7, all the fizzes and kloo horns will do flourish 4. All other instruments willcontinue playing the base melody. There is a bit of a timing issue on this, especially with a long instrument list.If you do this just before the end ofmeasure 1, the ones early in the list may play the specified flourish on measure 2, while the ones later in the list don't flourish until measure 3 (they got the command after already starting the base melody for measure 2).
* If you want asoloist to manually handle their own flourishes while the rest are syncronized, have that person use the "/band off" command to disable receiving band flourishes. They can do "/band on" to start accepting them again.
Only to reiterate what others have said.. make sure that those in your band have /bandflo on set, and also that they have /dump 'ed before you start running the 'song'... any other questions, feel free to ask =)
