Thread: Surprise! Another AFK page! Yay!!
It just occured to me not too long ago, maybe the Devs aren't doing much because its only the entertainers complaining about AFK entertainers. What if we got support from the other professions? Wouldn't that hand more pressure onto the Devs to deal with the problem? I'm sure they'll come up with at least a "decent and satisfactory" solution, but from all the possible solutions I've read, I say the idea about having some sort of t imer that records how long you've used your macros is put in place. Once it passes a certain amout of time, it shuts off. By that I mean, only after say, 10 continual minutes of macroing, are your macros reset, and you have to trigger them again....
Seems like a decent idea to me at least....
as a combatant who is constantly getting pwned by every durni that crosses my path, i like AFK entertainers. they don't cost a thing for me to get healed.
as a person, though, i loathe the concept. recently (on my server) i've seen things getting out of hand. people put "Please tip me!" in their macros, so every2 or3 seconds I am getting begged by some AFK Entertainer. One one hand, I can't blame them for being AFK, yet as a combatant I don't even have the choice of going AFK and getting much XP, so I don't like that they do it.
i can't say much. it would be easy to make it so that AFK Entertaining doesn't work, there are several easy methods. But until entertainer becomes interesting at all, I don't think you should take that crutch away.
It will be interesting to see how many entertainers are left after the Hologrind is over...Surely people don't become entertainers because they want to AFK Entertain. Rarely, anymore, do I see Entertainers socialize. Only once they become buffers do they even begin to mildly socialize. Its pretty sad.
