Thread: Tiaga and all non-trolls please help
AFK ents NEVER get my tips or my attention!
How can you have a viable class full of people that don't even play the game?
Devs do away with AFK ents!

both the devs and the corrs have been working hard, but i guess afk players is such a large group of people they can't really do much about it without pissing other people off (which i agree is crap, but that's the way it goes)as for real forum... if you think this is bad, try the CM forum O.o the forums in general are fill with troll, and i wish SOE did something about it
in the mean time, your best bet is to stick around and not let the trolls drown out our voices.
I'm with you. Lets get something done. But I think we already did a lot, and got nothing in return. There are bugs in this game that I personally reported back in beta. I would be on TC if I'd think I'd be useful there. But from all I have experienced here, I'd just be another guy that writes reports that get ignored.
If we manage to find a project that is worth working on, I'm on board. But sadly, I don't think it's our turn for action. We can't change something if the DEVs aren't listening, and they haven't for a looooong time.
I was an Entertainer (aiming for Dancer) and Image Designer in beta, based in Daoba Guerfel, and we rarely had an afk entertainer in the cantina. When I got to live I set Kwee up in Theed, but it wasn't more than a few weeks before Igot depressed by the hugepredominance of afk dancers and musicians (even master ones!). I was used to chatting withcustomers and chatting with my fellow ents, butI often found myself talking to...well myself. I've still played Entertainers (a Kwee on Flurry, andIvory on Test Center), and wrote a series of columns on tipping, but I never have been able toplay an ent long term. The afk'ers bum me out, and many of the customers no longer have interest in/respect for the profession. Sorry to sound all doom and gloom, I just really feel Ent/Dancer/Musician needs some serious revitalizing. That said, I am hopeful of these professions' future. The devs have said they are committed to hitting each and every profession's top issues, and are certainly proving it on the Image Designer front. They've said that new dances and songs are in the works, but that they take a lot of development time. Keep up your spirits, ignore the trolls, and keep working on constructive daily discussions and fun polls 
Report any trolls you do see to the moderators. Being constructive is one of the forum rules. I know I post here rarely, but I just wanted to support Panthu's(/wave Panthu) and the other ent correspondents' efforts, sharing some sympathy and support as a fellow Entertainer Message Edited by Kwee on 03-18-2004 04:09 PM

Just wanted to point out to anyone who hasn't seen it yet, TH did post in the Musician Forum in NewJedi's cool things thread (which I thought it was killer he posted that he had even made a list in the Corr Forums). Way to go NJ! Yay! 
I think Kwee's right, we can start being hopeful again. We just need to drop the depression and see how much wiggle room we're going to be allowed with what we know now (they want social and afk, how can we help make that work?). TH said lists were good in that thread and I think polls are a really great thing about the ID forum. I will be doing my part for the next few weeks to help balance out the negative spam with uber happy hopeful and hopefully constructive posts and polls in the Dancer and Ent forums! (I promise I won't spam musician and ID with another long one again, I just thought my last idea was really good *hides*)
I have to say that I'm not getting much of anything substantive from the devs these days. I'm getting pretty tired of it. It was not always so.
We entertainers are the only professions whose gameplay has gotten worse since launch. AFK-bots, holotainers, buff-bots -- all that has made our profession less fun to play, less important, less respected. And yet we are also the professions that have been most ignored. Has any profession gotten less attention than us over the last seven months? I play a number of alts in a variety of other professions, and in each case, I can point to new developments since launch. In our case, I can point only to the enhanced buff. Even the IDs are getting a publish next month. When is the Musician and Dancer publish coming, devs? We pay our subscription fee too.

Yes, well, all I'm wishing for right now is to be able to post in my profession's forum and read post here without every thread turning into a one starring atk/afk troll fest. The trolls are coming from both sides of the fight and it's time to stop it. When I first started playing AFK wasn't very common and there were always a few threads mentioning AFK or macrotainers, it was not almost every thread though. Someone posted a thread about tipping in here and even it was taken over by ATK-troll and AFK-troll. That's crazy.
The combination of the holo craze and no answer from the devs made us go a little nutty and at each others throats. Well, we got an answer from the Devs and the holo craze is ending, so it's time to stop this garbage. It's not like these forums aren't policed like mad, come on. If it keeps up like this, I'm guessing that holotainers will only be a distant memory and we'll still be seeing the same junk we are now. Nerf the trolls!
nvoigt - I know, it felt like we were really "getting things done" pre-ten answers and after it was just utter depression. 
I agree and I'm still annoyed too, but now it's time to move on. I don't know that Tiaga and the others can do any more than they are now with getting TH or dev response. I think they are most likely being ignored severely and more than a little bummed about it. From most of Ravenmist's posts, that's what it sounds like.
Never the less, I'm over it! We may not be able to get any Dev love any time soon or even ever, but even if we did get some right now I don't even think they would be able to find which issues we were really worked up about. They would get lost in the sea afk vs. atk troll posts. It looks like that's all we care about! Like nothing else even matters!
It's time for some tough correspondent love! These threads need to be closed, posts need to be deleted, whatever it takes. Known trolls need to get temporarily suspended, I don't care for how long. Normally I'm against this kind of policing, but it's done on all the other high traffic boards in these forums, so it's not like it would be anything new.
I want these forums cleaned up so I can see what other dancers and ents think and if a Dev should get lost and wander in here by accident, they could see too. Tiaga and the other two can't make them listen, but they can get a grip on the forums for us and it's time. I'd also like to see them all doing a weekly round up of ideas and top posted issues or something. I know they are depressed and feeling useless, but goodness, let's work with what we can.
NewJedi, don't make me come over to your forum and cheer for you! I so will! 
Heh, really, I know you are bummed... I know Raven and Tiaga are bummed... TH says he hates "whiney" and I'm guessing that our utter depression post ten-answers and letting our three forums be over run with trolls is probably making him feel perfectly justified in continuing to ignore us. He may still ignore us, but let's do our best not to let him feel justified.
