The best way to get to master entertainer is to just play and perform. Working music, you'll certainly want to play the best instrument you have the skill for. It makes a HUGE difference in xp. Also, find a nice large group to join. The larger the group, the more xp you'll get. You'll get the most xp if you perform two flourishes every 8 - 10 seconds, however, this can drain your action pool fairly quickly.

Dance is much the same, except you only have to do one flourish, rather than two. Also, most dancers find that if you hold some sort of weapon in your hand while dancing, you'll 'fall' less.

Image Design is the fun one. You can do changes on yourself for roughly half the xp as you would get by practicing on somebody else. Great times for doing this are while waiting for shuttles, waiting for your action to heal up while performing, while shopping the bazaar terminals, etc.

While not the 'quickest', this method will get you the most out of this rewarding profession.
