Pure entertainers cannot buff -- you have to get Musician/Dancer to give buffs. Ents can heal, though. Tailors can only give Music/Dancing Wound Healing. You have to get skill tapes to increase your Musical/Dance Mind Enhancement and/or Battle Fatigue Healing (Music/Dance).
As a side note, you may have gotten one starred due to "buff machine" in your title. I'm sure it's not what you meant, but people around here are understandably touchy about bots.

Oh. Well I meant was going to get musician techniques and dancing techniques 4 but was unsure what other skills I should get to maximize buffs.

Gotcha. To my knowledge, no other tree gives a direct benefit to the buff. Of course, you get a large enhancement to the buff at master, but it sounds like that's not your goal.
If you want to have new instruments/songs/dances, go up the knowledge tree. The instrument/dance/song you perform is supposed to have an effect on the time it takes to deliver the buff, but in practice it has no effect whatsoever. With your ent healing experience, I'd go up the BF tree.

I would recommend joining your servers Entertainment chat channel instead. Why worry about making a character that you really don't want to play, when there are ample masters around willing to buff? It may take a little searching, but you'll find them.

Got a couple questions.
1) What is the max you can get from bio clothing?
2) What template skills would you buy? I am going master Doc and as much entertainer as I can. What should I do?
Thanks

Indeed, on Chilastra, it's eoc (for "Entertainers of Chilastra") -- there is almost always someone available to buff.

Because paying 7k in shuttle travel and waiting 20 minutes to find an entertainer sucks.
[edit] I'm not trying to sound TOO negative, but so many times I have had to travel across the galaxy to avoid using a buffbot. I noticed how negative I sounded after reading my post.

Fortunately, with shuttle waits reduced, you won't have to waste so much time. And many ents are willing to come to you, if you offer to cover travel and time. I can't tell you how many times I've received tells asking me to come out to Dath, or Yavin because somebody's buffs are about to wear out.
Remember: Ents need credits too. We usually congregate where we know we'll get tips for our performance, and healing XP. Give us a place, and we'll be there.

He properly ment buff his main character, not his buffing character.
