Thread: Entertainers, Medics, and the proposed HAM system changes

Will these proposed HAM system changes affect us like it does combatants? As it is now we burn action which is easily re-fillable with stims. The proposed changes will make a new sub bar which is unhealable. If the devs force this new system onto the entertainers, either we'll be able to pretty much dance/play indefinitely, or we'll be forced to sit down and take a breather every so often with no chance of skipping this. This also cuts out a good consistant source of non-afk tumbler medic xp for jr medics, that healing us in the cantinas. Maybe by buffs, be it doctor or chef, we can avoid having the sit down, but that still leaves our medic buddies SOL. Personally when I see a new medic hanging out in the cantina in thier newb cloths I purposefully don't accarragm up and sit there and quintuple flourish with FX to burn action as fast as I can for them to heal just to give them a hand, made many good friends this way. I know nothings final but I encourage the corespondant to request that our action burn remain the same, actual, healable damage, instead of this new unhealable special meter.

Last I heard, the plan was for everything players did to use the new pool. If it's like what we saw before on TC, the regen rates will be faster than damage regen, however it still uses the secondary stats to determine cost and regen.
It will be unfortunate that we'll be losing the medic/entertainer relationship. As an alternative learning doctors may start giving low level buffs to entertainers for xp. Not quite as fast, but still xp. Of course that leaves CMs out.
As much as I would love to see things stay the same way they are, I doubt it would happen. A lot of the movement lately has been towards making professions take longer to get through. Right now, medic/doctor is very quick, even without tumblers.
