I don't know if any of you know this or not, but I learned the other day you can make it so if someones AFK you can't hear what they're saying
Makes grinding in the Cantina a Breeze hehe:

I always have my "Ignore AFK" switch on. Unfortunately it doesn't filter their emotes

...and it doesn't filter out those who have disabled their AFK tag.

... and still leaves a bad impression on all those who come into the cantina who don't have the AFK filter on.

... and confuses the hell out of me when I forgot to turn off my AFK and can't see what I'm saying.

Guilty here too...
Sadly, I fear the situation when I'm semi-busy in the cantina, someone walks in and stands kind of in front of me but not close enough to just grab my attention, and I think 'well, if they want to say something, they'll say something, and I can respond, but at the moment, I'm keeping track of these other 7 conversations'. Then I find out that the AFK tag is on, and the player suddenly does an (unfiltered) /rude at me and storms away, feeling ignored.
I've missed a couple introductions because of the AFK tag, but haven't pissed anyone off yet.. but I expect the day will come.

If I see someone come into the cantina with the AFK tag on, I often send them a /tell asking if they know it. I might get their AFK message, but they do get my tell. Most of the time, they've forgotten and thank me.
Now, if someone has their AFK disabled and is running around AFK, then getting ignored, even unintentionally, is what they should expect.

*rofl*
First time it happened to me I spend 30 minutes trying to modify my spatial tab to figure out why I couldn’t see myself speaking.

heheh I sat through an entire city council meeting one time, wondering why one of my friends was smiling & such, but not talking at all. Afterwards I asked someone why the guy had been so quiet and felt really dumb when they explained that he'd been talking the whole time and wondered why I was ignoring everything he said.
