Thread: Great observation about entertainers...

I've been to several combat/crafter boards and I have to say the entertainer boards are a nice, cozy place! I don't feel any hostility, I don't see posts of sensless bickering over unfair advantages of other professions, posts crying about things that don't work, the same ole gripe posts flooding the boards. All I see is a profession with a community that really sticks together, works together, and cares about others in the profession. This is a great profession and a great board to match.
I started entertainer 3 days ago and I have had nothing but open arms and real help and support from other entertainers. It's such a change from the solo-groups and competition of the combat classes. I'm not gonna turn my back on my BH (too much work to get there!), but I'm really enjoying my time as an entertainer. My thanx to all those on the boards and to those on the Corbantis server...you guys wail!

I really have to admit, I miss the sort of simplicity and purity of the basic entertainer profession. You don't have to worry about buffs, or how much stat migrations are worth, or keeping the Ommni Box targeted. All you have are the simple tools of what we do, and it means you all have the liberty to put an extra emphasis on patron interaction and the effort to amuse: the really worthwhile and fun things that are often overshadowed by the "important" things we advanced professionals are supposed to be responsible for providing.
Hats off to the entertainers!

I actually was 4040 musician for a while, then 4040 dancer (I will never drop ID or tailoring, nuh uh!) and ended up doing 0030 musician with master entertainer. Ultimately, I didn't like buffing that much, when I did it, and people will gripe about non-master buffs in any case. With master entertainer, I get the mando/ceremonial (cool) and footloose 2 (I find that incredibly cool now!). I mostly don't worry about healing or buffing people and just jam at the starport, or at social events and whatnot. I find it very relaxing. When people have blackbarred mind pool, they don't care much if you can buff, but they're thrilled to find you willing to play a song for them.

I too have noticed this general trend among the entertainer professions... it seems to attract some of the nicest people in the game, or if not, it simply brings out the 'nice' in people.
I too, about a week ago, grabbed dancer, and... I loves it.
