I am on Naritus, I have bought 3 playback droids and not one of them is working. I just dont get an option for either the effects or play/record. I have already /bug the problem but was just curious if I was the only one having this problem.

thanks!

Are you at least Novice Dancer or Novice Musician?

You have to be novice musician for playback modules, novice musician OR dancer for the FX modules

No, actually I think a Novice Dancer can use a playback droid... just a Novice Musician must program it... I'm not sure if a dancer can /bflo a droid to get it to /flo...

No, dancer can't use the playback module, some musicians trick the system into letting thier dancing friends hold music droids for them by /startband'ing the droids into playing tho

And to add even more clarity, the fact that this mostly happens with dancers is just due to the fact that musicians are often grouped with dancers.
*Anybody* may 'hold' a droid, and as long as the droid is in the group, the droids can be /startband'ed (which I don't view as a trick).

Dancers don't get that menu option

Correct the dancers can't interact with the droid's playing functions at all, but neither can anyone else when the dancer owns the droid. Imaji carries 'Backup' for me while I carry 'Sidekick'. When I need to make any changes to backup she has to trade him to me so that I can record a new instrument or song in one of the playback units. When she calls backup she can't interact with the playback units at all but she can use all the other functions like recharging him or issuing the normal pet commandslike follow, group, etc. Once he is grouped he will react to band commands just like any other droid in the group. Ifbackup gets hit with the /changeband bug its tough because Imaji can't stop and restart him manually and since I'm not the owner neither can I. Even befriending the droid to someone does not provide access to the radial menu it only allows them to follow your spoken commands.

Fortunately I haven't had to use both droids much recently because we are getting a nice group of musicians at Theed now and making some fine music for the dancers to perform to.
