OK, I'm totally new to the entertainer profession. I want to go the music route. I go to the mission terminal and click "musician" for, assumibly, musician missions. However, upon clicking "details," they list the mission as dancer; for ALL missions. Is this normal or a bug? Basically, I can't seem to get a musician mission. Also, the mission description doesn't list a performance duration. I'm pretty lost, here and any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Yes, they're all labeled as 'dancer' missions, but fear not. They can be completed by either dancing or playing music.

Welcome to the Entertainer professions!
Yeah, that's a known bug, that's been there since the servers went live. It's just never been a priority to fix it. Once you hit the Musician tab, it'll show the Musician gigs. If you're still not sure, just read the mission info. It'll let you know for sure.
Oh, and keep scrolling through the missions, until you find two for the cantina you usually play at. The payouts don't cover shuttle fees.

I know that artisan survey missions are (or were when I did them in March) tied to weapon skill - are the entertainer missions as well?

That would be just like SOE to do. I mean, by their thinking, nobody would ever want to play a noncombatant. Just look at the Force Village as an example.

Don't believe so. I had some vague memory of someone saying something like this, and I think I tested it out sometime but the payouts were still crap.
But this is all in the vague 'I think I did that sometime' part of my brain, so it's quite possible I dreamed this all.

I'll test that again tonight. I haven't looked at an entertainer mission on my main Deila in... well, forever. If weapon skill does play a factor in entertainer missions, my Rifles mastery will show it.

I usually hold a sword of some type when dancing, and my swordsman skills currently count for nothing on the entertianer missions, or at least didnt until 11.2... have not tried it since.

Nope. No matter what you do, entertainer mission payouts = crap.
- If your hands are empty the payout = crap
- If you have a musical instrument equipped the payout = crap
- If you have a weapon equipped the payout = crap
- If you are in a group the payout = insulting crap

Get a generic crafting tool, go to bestine, and use the artisan terminal to take crafting missions. No artisan skills needed you pick up 3 pieces from one NPC, put them together, and deliver to another NPC.Bestine and Anchorhead are 300m apart and you can run two missions each way. The pay is 4 to 8 times better and you can complete each leg infive minutes on a swoop. Easy, low risk, and indicative of how blind the devs are to what we do. The enterainer missions, even at the cantina where the terminal is located, will take 10 minutes and pay 200 credits. You can do 4 artisan missions in the same time and make 3600.
