Nothing official or that I plan on doing anything with at the moment... Just an idea I had as a player, curious what others think of it....
It's not a new idea, nor was I the first to think of it by a long shot.
I think most people know that it can be quite fun (And even decent tips) to perform in a starport. It also adds to the atmosphere. If you go to New York and ride the subway, there are street performers there.... Why not in starports, too?
Of course, this can tie into the idea of moving healing out of cantinas.... But as mentioned in another recent thread (Which was the thread that got me thinking about this again) that isn't necessarily a good idea. Even if it were just starports, that would just make the Coronet starport even more crowded.
Now, I don't know how the New York transit authority feels about these performers... But lets say in Star Wars, the starports don't like people setting up shows in a location that is supposed to be about travel.. And they will chase anyone out that they catch performing there.
Putting that into game terms, the basic idea is that starports in big cities (The round ones, basically, maybe Theed too) can be used at least like camps - to heal mind and buff. Maybe heal BF, maybe not. But at least the basics. The catch is that if you are "caught" performing, you're booted out of the starport, and as such unabe to heal/buff. You would get something like a 30 second warning in the form of a message along the lines of "You hear the starport authorities around the corner. Better stop performing." and if you heed it and aren't playing when they do the scan, they ignore you. If you ignore the warning, you get kicked out.
Just my thoughts on how to "legitimize" street performing (In game terms, at least) without turning it into something that will draw the bots out of the cantina.

That's a cool idea I like it. I'm forever performing at the starport if I am waiting for the shuttle so great! Only thing would be I'd hate to be moved along just as a shuttle arrived! Have to be good and obey the authorities...

Shouldn't be too big a deal... The shuttles wait a little over 4 minutes until they leave.

i like it... to further it i would say since street performing is more a person to person thing a lot of the time, maybe the healing is targeted and both have potential problems with the starport athorities?
this would fit in with my "little additions" musician vision doc thread
