As we all know the buff bots are here to stay and there's no regulating against them, at least none that I've heared...

But what if the game could give healing bonuses to those few entertainers that stay on the keyboard? Maybe this could be a good incentive for live performances?

We don't need any healing bonuses. Infact, most of us heal too fast already. We want people IN the cantinas, not cycling them through as fast as possible (though, that's what they want).

Buffbots are NOT here to stay, unless we allow them. Using a macro for unattended playIS against the Terms of Use. Report them. Make the CSRs aware that we're not going to sit back and endure this anymore.

You may think it's not that important, or we can deal with it as we have for so long, or others will report their exploitation of the system. I leave you with two quotes to think about:

'No man is justified in doing evil on the ground of expedience.'
Author: Theodore Roosevelt

'The only thing needed for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing.'
Author: Edmund Burke

And there is a live play bonus - it's the 20k tips you get when the bounty hunter is amused that you actually said 4 things to him, not just "If I'm not in a group, invite me - I have autojoin" or "My tips need your tips!"

Not that I'm speaking from recent events....

Shyy'rissk the Angry Wookiee:Former Master Swordswook 4440 Doc, Pre-NGE TKM, MPike, Doc 4000, now Master Spy. "Still here, still hitting things until they fall down."

Eenig Darksun, Former Ith Pistoleer and Armorsmith, now Officer "No, you can't call me ET."
Daolee the Spiky, Rodian Medic. "We puts the needle in here, and either you die, or you feel better. If you die, we use it on enemy next time!"

I'm not sure we need an incentive for live performance. Those who let their avatars animate while afk are doing so when they would rather not be in the game. It is unlikely that they can be motivated to stay home from work or school or whatever to play..they've already made that decision. Those of us who are ATK are playing because we enjoy & prefer it and don't need further motivation.

What we need is something to reward the non-entertainer players for participating with ATK players. I don't think a slight boost to our healing ability is going to do it for them.

I'm not encouraging people to miss work, school, or daily life I'm just talking about playing live being a little more interactive with the other players when online. Geez, I guess i'm the only entertainer in the game that actually improvs songs instead of using those repeat macros.

I thought your suggestion was to increase the healing bonus for ATK entertainers. I saw nothing in your suggestionproposing toprovide greater interaction between players. Additionally, I guess I'm missing where you got the idea that you're the only entertainer around who improvs or entertains without recursive macros.

My feedback to your suggestion was that I didn't think it would be a motivator for those who choose to let their avatar animate while AFK. Based upon conversations I have had with people who choose to play their entertainer character while AFK, they view it as a "no lose" situation. Any credits or experience earned while AFK is more than they would have otherwise received during that time. They seem to think they'd bother to go back and learn the songs and flos after they master (though I've yet to see one actually do that).

I think we'd be better off if the devs put in a means for combat players to get a bonus to the heals and buffs they receive that would make ATK players more valued by other professions. It could have the added benefit that, should enough combat players choose to interact with ATK entertainers almost exclusively, the AFK'ers would have to spend some time playing the game to get healing xp.
