well i am an ent. almost novice muscian, grinding is a pain in the Lekku (im human ). Also im in about all the types of professions. Armorsmith, Entertainer, Pikeman and Merchant. im mainly a Artisan type person but i use entertainer to entertain, and pikeman to get some quick cash. i know what grinding feels like even thought i havent mastered over 5 professions.an ent for about a few weeks now and i know im not a hard core grinder but imbairly everAFK-ent since i have better things to do. Here are some things i want to change about entertainer...

1. Make experience easier to get. i have to spend about a few days (not 24hours)for ONE box, while afk. compared to pikeman and/or armorsmith in a matter of hours. this would help entertainers with not being afk for days apon days of pure grinding with it minimized.

2.Make it more fun to get experience. this works with experience faster ^^. and a little more rewarding. we all know only the genorous people tip a worthy amount. im not sure to help with this but someone can fill this one in.

3. this one is with AFK. afk means Away From Keyboard. so if you arent there how could you do actions? make it so it either takes off AFK or you cant do any actions. and make it so there is a AFK timeout that would /dump and/or cancel all actions.

people! i would love feed back!

Where is it you are playing? Are you flourishing a lot? Using your best instrument or playing your best music?

But more importantly, why are you so focused on master? What do you think is going to change that what you don't consider fun now will suddenly become fun?

Then why are you so concerned about grinding?

The problem is, it isn't too hard to get musci xp, it's too easy to get all the other types of xp you mentioned. That'll all change with the combat rebalance coming up. It's supposed to take months to get to master (i'm talking Musician or Dancer). Just look at how long it takes now to get master ID. That's how long the Devs want us to spend playing the game, working towards a goal of achieving Master.

Don't look at having to get xp. Don't think about grinding, or fun as a byproduct of earning xp. Enjoy the profession, flirt with other performers and patrons. Chat it up. Have fun. If you do, you'll be suprised how fast the xp comes. In the words of my crazy granny, "A watched stormtrooper never takes a leak".

I agree though, if you're AFK, you should be essentially, linkdead. No xp, No healing, No tips, No spam, No looting. And there should be no way to turn off your AFK timeout. That would allow people to stay ingame who have to step away for a short period of time, let people keep recursive macros, and get rid of the unattended gameplay.

I mastered musician and entertainer recently all ATK. It isn't that bad and certainly far less of a grind than Tailor or ID. It took me about 5 weeks to master both and it was fun. What makes it fun is finding the others that are present in the cantina and talking with them. Also talking with the people who come in and out of the cantina.

Just sitting there watching your toon flourish isn't fun, I agree. Its the entertaining and socializing pieces that make it fun, without those I wouldn't even fool with the profession. I certainly make far more off my rifleman and small amount of scouting than I do entertaining so the profession isn't about credits either. If it isn't fun now it won't be fun later.

I think the most frustrating thing about Ent Leveling is that there isn't an active optionthat can beused to go faster. Whether it's taking you 3 days or 3 months, you should still be able to feel like some kind of effort on your part is accelerating the process. That's the opposite of grind, that's involvement. Because we are such a passive Prof, we need to be able to level passively as we do now. We just need some more "hands on" activities that increase XP payout significantly... so it feels like you are getting something done with your training when you are craving that kind of experience.

I don't have a problem with any of your 3 points. If they were all done together, it would be a huge improvement for everyone.

If you are having fun, then you win the game.
