Flourish more at least once every 5 seconds. Also watch your action when you do this. Get in a group as this increases the experience and will really help with the healing experience.

Find a group that is at the keyboard if you can. You will make friends, get advice, and have a lot of fun visiting as you work on experience.

Don't grind, the profession levels slower than combat professions because the combat professions level too fast; not because this one is too slow.

Try different flourish combinations and find pleasing combinations. Try to find songs, work with other musicians to see if you can come up with multi-instrument tunes. The profession isn't just about mastering its about enjoying what you do. To enjoy being a musician you need to make songs not just play your highest experience flourish mix in a sea of 10 other different flourish sequences. You will be surprised how many unique music combinations are actually possible once you start experimenting.

Take breaks and do other things. I am master rifleman, entertainer, musician. I play in cantinas, compose in my house, hunt and harvest for profit and to help my guild, sit and let my lady do ID on me for her mastery while we chat, flirt with the ladies in the cantina, chat with the other fighters coming to get healed, and wander planets for adventure and fun. Doing just one thing, any one thing, gets boring fast. I've found musician to be a great break from the "click attack, watch toon fight, click harvest" that PvE can become.

Welcome to Entertainment!

Yes, earning your way to a master Entertainer profession takes a lot of time and effort. But when you reach it, you'll really be proud of that title, and all the work you put into it.

The previous poster is correct. That'll get you more xp. However, don't look at Entertaining as a traditional xp grind. Relax, converse with your patrons, flirt, and above all, have fun. If you do, you'll find the xp will come quickly enough.

Again, welcome to a fun and rewarding (but not in the traditional monetary sense) profession

Find a cantina with more ATK than AFK players and your going to have a great time. By far its the most social class, and all the ATK people are really good people.

Not saying that AFK people arent good people, everybody needs to leave the computer from time to time. Its just a wonderful social class of Ents that will make the exp wonderful. I dont worrry about how much exp I get or how long it takes. It is by far the most fun I have had in a long time.

I don't know your server but on Corbantis two things affect this. Where you are and the time. Day time US is very empty everywhere. Mos Eisley is often empty, surprising since you would think its mostly new players but I guess they learn to do what they see. I've had good luck in Theed in the evening. Yes there are a bunch of AFK but there usually a core group of ATK people who group up and have a blast.

Take your time, learn the songs and the flos. Play with them and see what works. If you work your way up it playing with it and learning along the way, it will likely take a couple of months. When you're done you'll know how to use the tools and others will love the way you make it sound.

Nothing chaps me more than to try to play or dance with someone who never learned anything more about our professions than how to write a recursive macro which goes from one flo to the next at predictable intervals.

Where were you playing? On Kettemoor, Mos Eisley and Theed sometimes have decent ATK groups. (But then again, they usually have AFK people too.)

Also if you want to meet up with other entertainers to jam (Not for xp, not that you won't get any, but it's focused on more fun not more xp) you can join the "ent" chat channel.
