Some of the combat types I have buffed claim that they do work. Apparently this is how you do it:

1) Do the first buff as normal.
2) Start a second buff.
3) When the time is up the listener/watcher does not stop listening/watching, instead the Entertainer stops performing until the Buffie is well out of the Cantina.
4) Apparently when the buffies first buff runs out the then type /stoplisten or /stopwatch and the new buff is applied.

I cannot say I have seen if it works personally, I'm not sure if it could be classed as an exploit either.

It is an exploit as a friend has asked a CSR. Now I know CSR information is dodgy but if one CSRconsiders it an exploit and that one is the person contacted if someone complains then .....

The bots won't complain and neither will the people getting the stacked from them.

By definition it's an exploit. Using game mechanics to give yourself an advantage, doing something that normally can't be done. It's much like the old 30 second buff.

I've heard people claim it even works after you die/clone. All you have to do is /stopwatch/listen and you're mind isrebuffed and you're ready to fight again.

Now, this is a way to deter the buffbots that do both music and dance buffs. If we notice somebody hang around for a double set of music and dance buffs, then we pretty much know what they're up to. We report the exploit. CSR has to come investigate, and notices the bot going through the normal buff cycles and people hanging around for the double buffs.

The bot is facilitating the exploit. By not being there the bot has no control over whom does what with it.Running a macro that enables people to use this exploit, the bot should then be open for a) server disconnection, b) account warning, and c) account suspension and/or banning.

That's my interpretation. Of course, I still interpret the use of any macro or program that allows unattended gameplay to be against the EULA.

They got rid of that clause unfortunatly.

Without any sort of CSR opinion, my gut opinion is that "storing" a buff for later is an exploit.

I didn't realize it until later, but here is what happened to me:

I am a master dancer, and a customer asked for a buff. I always /setperf, and tell them before to make sure they /stoplisten and /stopwatch all other performers before they /watch me. My buffs are fast and accurate, and work well almost always. He had already gotten a music buff, from my friend next to me. When my buff was done, he said "It didn't stick"... I looked at his HAM and I could see it, but he claimed he didn't and althought I told him I though it bugged on his interface, he asked me to re-do it ...so I did. Now, at this time I hadn't heard of the 'buff-stack', but at the end of that (he was holding a weapon so I couldn't see him clapping or not)he says 'still no good, would you stop dancing real quick, to see if that makes it stick'? Gullible me says 'sure' and I do. He says "Yay it worked that time" and ran out, while I'm waiting to restart my dance.

The next day I stumble on the buff stack thread, and realized that he scammed one out of me. I had been asked before to stack buffs, but thought it couldn't be done and had told folks so.*shrug*

It made me really angry that this guy (probably) took advantage of my desire to give good service as a dancer, and makes me think if it wasn't an exploit, why didn't he justask me to do it? Instead of sneaking one?

Further encouragement for us to stop buffing all together.

At this point, since the Devs won't say if it's an exploit or not, I'd be willing to give a double set (gives l337Dewd a reason to find live Performers) if they justadmit that's what they want, and tip accordingly. You lie to me, you never get a buff fromme again.
