If you are a musician you get the mandoviol instrument and ceremonial song. These are some of the coolest musician tools we have. If you are a dancer you get formal2 which is a bit nicer than formal but not by a lot. If you are going ID there isn't a reason to master it.
The musician receives the best rewards for master ent by far.

If you are a Musician when you hear the Mando and Ceremonial you will probably want it, I know I did. Many of the dancers I know don't think the Dances you get at Master Ent are worth it.IDs get nothing at Master Ent so for them it is unlikely to be worth it. That said if you do get Master Ent you will be well equipped for parties as you will be able to danceor join the band, plus do your own hair.
If you are interested only being the best healer you can then Master Entertainer will be pointless to you, it isall about astheics, ratherthan game mechnics.

I just killed what I had left of a comfortable hunting template "because" of this mandoviol ^^ Before I was quite comfortable with my master Teras Kasi art, scoutism for harvest, camping (hehe) and Terrain negociation (/cry self) plus some nice skills as novice medic... All i have left of combat skills now is Master TK and medic 1000
All this because of the mandoviol...
But you know, not beeing able to play an instrument even as a Master Musician is one of the most frustrating things of the game
But as said before, for those who play swg with sound turned off, no need for master entertainment.
(You know what it's like to play "free style" for half an hour with two players in your cantina, asking them if they like the show and beeing answeared "Oh I dont care, I turned off player music a long time ago" *sigh*)

Ceremonial and the mandovial are well worth the master entertainer skill point investment. Footloose2 and formal2 are sad. I think it would have been better to add the theatrical dances here and put formal2 and footloose2 in novice dancer.
Of course this would mean adding another dance for the quest

Ferocious wookiee dancers look a whole lot more ferocious dancing Footloose2 to Western than they do dancing Footloose. Just my opinion.

I made my Entertainer character solely because of the Mando. Ceremonial was an added bonus.
Post mastery I have found it fun and handy to be able to cut loose on the Dance floor sometimes, or to do my own makeup before a show.

Entertainer was my first mastered profession. I have not dropped it since. I considered going up musician but then got entangled with pistoleer... lol.. I am areally weak pistoleer, but I make up with my piloting skills...
I love the mandoviol. In 7 months I have only seen one other mandoviolist on the server I'm on. It has a sound all it's own, not like all the generic horns and pipes... I'm a unique sight amongst the AFK musician/dancer buffers... (sigh) ... I love entertaining... often times I will pop by a cantina to heal my own BF and if it's full of AFKers and the type to turn music off and just watch the musicians and leave I'll just find myself a corner and play and leave.... but if it's a lively place, I will stay far longer than my BF needs to heal and start chatting and jamming...even mixing up the flourishes to my liking.. I mean really, any instrument that makes the starwars1 song sound so awesome deserves a lot of credit lol
I'd love to hear other songs with the mandoviol though.... I need the mandoviol, my character isn't my character without it. I'm not me without a stringed instrument. I may master musician as well as have what little pistoleer I have on the side.... maybe drop it for something stronger with less SP
...also being able to change my hair at my liking is invaluable lol
