One I frequently use with my droid is:

/flo 1; /bandflo 2;

You will need to experiment a lot to find the best combinations of flourishes for each pair of instruments.

I'm told that the following also works:

/bandflo 2 traz; /bandflo 3 slitherhorn;

which will cause your bandmates to do different flourishes depending on their instrument.

Note that only those dancing can /bandflo the dancers, and only those playing music can /bandflo the musicians.

Would someone mind testing this out and double checking the /bandflo # instrument please

Yeah, I know for sure it works.
/bandflourish # instrumentname
Which, in most cases, can be reduced to
/b # firstLetterOfInstrumentName
where the exceptions are the fizzz and fanfar, where you need the first two letters to distinguish them.

Examples:
/bandflourish 5 slitherhorn - causes slitherhorns in the group to do flourish 5
/b 5 s - same as above
/bandflourish 7 fanfar; /bandflourish 2 fizzz - causes fanfars to do flourish 7 at the same time that fizzzes do flourish 2
/b 7 fa; /b 2 f - same as above

The Beginner's Guide to Coordinated Performances

Band flourish is an entertainer's best friend for coordinated performances. An entertainer has the ability to use the commands /bandflo 1-8 to sync up with other entertainers. The entertainer running the band flourishes is the only one who gets the experience. So you may not get experience right now, but don’t fret -- the look of dancers all dancing in unison and musicians all doing like flourishes is simply amazing. Experience can come at any time, get a group together and take turns doing the band flourishes. Many combatants will appreciate the extra effort of all parties involved and tips for a coordinated group tend to be higher. If you want to go and do your own thing and not participate in a group running band flourishes all you have to do is type /bandflo off. You will not do the other group's flourishes and will get the same experience as before without all the spiffyness of a large group in unison. But please ask a group before you do run these band flourishes. Give a friendly warning that a few of you are going to be working together so people have the chance to /bandflo off, if they prefer not to participate.

Sample Band Flourish Macro
“BandFlo”
/bandflo 1;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 4;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 8;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 7;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 3;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 2;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 5;
/pause 10;
/bandflo 6;
/pause 10;
/echo Hit that Band Flourish Button Again;

I have the pauses set at 10 as other players don’t get experience, but still lose the action of doing the flourish. Some species aren’t as well set as some for action stats. Remember you're in a group, this is a group effort, please be kind to everyone. Some may even want the pauses at 15 or 20 if you're all doing a high level song or dance. Stamina and quickness buffs can help, and accarragm is your friend!

The person running the flourishes only gets the experience that they would normally receive, not the experience of the full group. Also the leader (running the flourishes) will appear to start doing the flourish a second or two before someone else, sometimes it's better to space out with the leader in the center doing a different dance or instrument, so It doesn’t look out of place with one too fast for everyone else. Another useful addition to this would be the /split command, if only one person of the bandflourish group gets the tip its most beneficial for everyone to /split (tip amount) so you split it evenly over the entire group. This will split it amongst everyone near you in the group, even folks not participating in the band flourishes.

Another important note - musicians and dancers can run band flourishes and not interfere with each other. Band flourishes initiated by a musician will not affect dancers at all, and vice versa. So if you really want to be spiffy, have a musician run band flourishes for the musicians, and a dancer do the same for the dancers.

So you want to improve your performance as a Musician?

It sounds wonderful when you are using a droid with a music module, and do something such as /flourish 2; /bandflo 4. You will do one flourish and your droid will do another, as droids do not perform flourishes on their own, only base music. But droids do follow band flourishes!

Another way to improve your performance as a group is the leader of the bandflos uses a more complicated macro such as :

/flourish 1; /bandflo 2 slitherhorn; /bandflo 5 mandoviol; /bandflo 4 bandfill; /bandflo 7 Nalagaron; /bandflo 6;

This way all at once the person running the macro will take a solo flourish slightly before everyone else. All the slitherhorns will do flourish 2, mandoviols, bandfills, and nalagarons will all do their own flourishes while anyone not playing these instruments will do flourish 6. Now I just pulled all this off the top of my head so I honestly don’t know how this particular show will sound, also remember this is all at the same time, not one then the other.

Good luck to everyone with your coordinated performance.

thanks Okyy... it's funny about "/echo Your macro is done." etc. I always used "/t sartinius blahdone" up until a couple months ago lol... did not work on my alts and often interfered with my /replies to people lol

Echo comes in handy for not screwing up replies. and like hell im going to post an endless macro like that for all to see. 80 seconds of flourishing, if you know anything about macros its easy enough to just repeat it instead.

Could you add a short line about *asking* if a coordinated performance could be done? Occassionally, I find my dance routine interrupted by one of those ugly jiggle flourishes because someone is doing a bandflourish even though they didn't suggest/request a group dance. It's certainly easy enough to toggle the accept bandflo option to off but I'd just rather someone ask if we can do a group dance. To me it's sort of like the "invite ninja" who wants a buff but doesn't ask.

great guide and I look forward to seeing it in a Friday Feature

I hope you'll forgive me, I edited your guide to correct some grammar and punctuation mistakes, to add semi-colons to your example macro, and to add some text about the fact that music and dance bandflos do not interfere with each other. Here it is:
