Thread: No Server Resets?

"We have been improving our overall server stability, and are ready to move to less-frequent restarts. Daily server maintenance has been suspended until further notice for all live servers. We retain the maintenance window though, so we may take the servers down any day during this maintenance window and will give notice of this whenever practical."
Does this mean that AFK players can set up shop Friday afternoon, take off for the weekend, and log off Monday? I sure hope not. I posted this here for you all to discuss so hopefully we can get some answers!

yes it does. However, because this is now possable the devs may work on getting rid of recursive macros.

Yes it does mean that. No longer do they have a 23/7 advantage with game mechanics... they have now expanded hours to 24/7 weeeeeeee.....
And there is really nothing we can do. so no point in getting too worked up about it.(yes that is the sound of us being beaten into submission to just accept the fact that AFK bots are here to stay for at least another 6 months.)

Honestly, do you believe that the Devs will follow through on this? AFKers bring in money -- dirty money in my opinion, but money nonetheless.

So, are we just going to sit back and let them win? Luke didn't want to get involved in battling the Empire. What if he would have just given up! Don't wait for Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru to get slaughtered before you make your stand!!

I do think they will follow through with this. I had my doubts before, but this will make it immposable to ignore.

i say that it is not wrong to do this as long as they are not making money, some of us want to just grind and have a good time

I find this problematic not just for buff-bots but also for unattended loot farming - although the loot farmer will eventually run out of inventory space and cease to profit from his AFK-ness, he will still "hog" all the NPC's that could be killed by others who want xp or loot.

You know, it's strange, but sometimes I really miss our old trolls. The newest ones haven't even really been worth the time it took me to glance at their thread titles.

as an fyi I thought about changing my nick around to Dark Yaddle when Ep. 1 came out but it just doesn't have the same feel to it.. plus I've seen nothing about Yaddle that would suggest she is evil. As an odd aside to this as well my halo 2 friends call me Troll instead of DY... /shrug
