You will need a generic (?) crafting tool. You can either ask an Artisan to make you one or I think you get one automatically when you train novice artisan. When you double-click on the tool you should be able to find the instruments in its list of available schematics. However, you will not be able to automatically build every instrument - check your skill tree for which instrument you qualify to make at which level.

You will need a small amount of resources to build an instrument which you can either buy or survey for yourself (I usually survey for myself ).

Hope that helps!

The lowest-end instruments can be made with a Generic Crafting Tool, but after a bit you'll need a Weapon/Droid/Generic Crafting Tool to make the rest of them.

You get access to the schematics to make the instruments by levelling up the Musicianship tree of Entertainer, and get access to more if you go into skills of the Musician profession. If you'd like to see all schematics that you already know, check the "draft schematics" section of your Datapad (CTRL+D, by default). Hope this helps.

You can craft all the instruments in the game when you hit Musician 4-0-0-0. There are three resources you will need to be able to craft all of the instrunets: Steel, Aluminum and Soft Wood.

You will want at least one Weapon, Droid, Generic Crafting tool, I have three so I do not have to wait to for the last instrument I started crafting to finish before I stert the next.

If you want to change the default name of the instrument i.e. by changing 'a Kloo Horn' to 'a Kloor Horn by me' you will probably want to map copy and paste to the keyboard (You can do this some where in the game options) this will ensure you don't have to type things out all the time which slows you down if you are crafting quite a few instruments at once.

Hope this helps.

I thought there was one that required Hard Wood? [checks swgcraft schematics database] I guess I was wrong.

The lower-level instruments (fizzz, I think?) require just 'wood' - so you *can* use hard wood if you want, but soft wood works as well.

The only instrument that needs Soft Sood is the Mandoviol all the others can have any type... most instruments will accept a wide range of metals such as copper or iron.
