Why, why did the instrument I want have to require master entertainer? Now Im going to have to drop all my ambitions to run a combinaion booze/music/spice bar because I cant afford too keep the smuggling skills anymore. *sob* WHY CANT I DO EVERYTHING WITH ONE CHARACTER!
hehe. In all seriousness though, Im finding it hard to come to terms with the fact that after only a few hours playing in a cantina, Im feeling no qualms at all about dropping a substantial chunk of not only my combat ability, but my money making ability too. Ive always played combat professions in other games, and too find something thats basically as far from combat as is possible great fun is alien too me.
Anywho, anyone got any tips for enduring the hordes of AKF-zombies long enough to aquire master entertainer?

Master entertainer fortunately doesn't take long. You can do it in a day if you've got all day. If you really want to suck it up and take it, go to Coronet to get the healing xp. Dance while you're there and try and get as high in dance as you can. If you reach dancing IV and you haven't reached entertainer healing IV, switch to music, but for the sake of your sanity, turn the sound off. What is made in there is not music.
Once you're done there, finish up dancing if you need it. Now for the musician you've got two choices. The cheap way is to just start tooting on your slitherhorn and work your way up through the music. Remember, the best xp comes from using either your best instrument or your best music. You can do this anywhere since you already have the healing experience. If you just want to get it out of the way fast, you can also craft to grind through it. For this, buy 33k metal. It will probably cost you around 100k credits. Pick up 4 or 5 generic crafting tools, as well. Now start making slitherhorns in practice mode using one of the grinding assistance macros. You can probably get this out of the way in well under 3 hours.
Of course, that's the way to do it quickly. If you want to do it and enjoy it.. What I'd do is find a group of PvPers and follow them around, offering to heal their mind and bf. Try and bring a friend who's a skilled entertainer. The more skilled the better. Novice elite or master entertainer is the best choice, so they can teach you skills as you need them. The reason I say this is that PvP produces a lot of BF and wounds. I had a group of 11 come into my cantina between battles, and after the second battle. Between the two visits, I got 15k healing experience off them. The musician and dance experience, you can get anywhere, not just in a cantina. At the shuttleport or starport is a nice place. People appreciate the entertainment during the wait, and even tip occasionally.

Thanks for the tips mate, but I was shocked at how fast I got too healing 4. I got into a full group in Bestine cantina and got it in about 5 hours(with breaks for a hunt), I think there were some PvP battles going on outside.
I managed to get musician 3 in that time as well, so I really was surprised. After spending 2 days grinding wastril bread just too get too mixology 1 in chef, I was expecting it to take at least triple that to master entertainer.
Now all I need too do is figure out a way to make as much money as I would have selling spice with entertainer, hehe.

Bestine is a PvP hotspot, yes. Entertainer healing xp isn't that hard to get in the right spots.
Comparing entertainer to Chef however isn't fair, as Chef is an elite profession. Try working through some of the Musician tree and see if you still think it's really quick.

I have a thread that includes macros to go from Novice to Master very quickly. If you're human it'll work perfectly, if not you will have to change the hair_color in the ID macro to something else like eye_color or whatever your race gets at Novice ![]()
