Thread: How to make a Droid dance?

I've seen Entertainers pull out their R2 units, and then the little guys would dance around in circles, beelping, spinning, and putting their third leg in and out. Does anyone know how to do this? I played with my droid last night but got little response.

What's the trick? I wanna use him in my act.

I'm a Master Droid Engineer and I've been approached with this same question in-game. This is a simple use of the "Get Patrol Point" command. Follow these steps to get your droid to "dance":

A) Select a spot where you want your droid to dance.

B) Type "Get patrol point" or whatever your command macro is for that.

C) Using thearrowkeys on your keyboard, turn slightly to the left or right and type the command again.

D) Repeat this process 10 times, making sure to go in random directions or your droid will simply spin in place.

E) Once you've given the 10th "Get patrol point" command, step away from the spot and say "patrol" or whatever your command macro is for it.

F) Let the show begin...

Just for future reference, the protocol droid is the best droid to dance.

Yes, same way you name a pet - teach it 4 commands with a name in front of it. (i.e. Sparky attack, Sparky stay...). Once it has a name you can change its commands back and the name will stick.

yes, the formation command works for any dance where we move slightly. it doesn't work for any of the exotics, so you'd have to use the patrol point version for that

Also the formation works best with the non humanoid droids. However, for dances that move a lot (Formal, lyrical) it sort of works for the humanoid droids too.

I'd get my R2 to dance with me by having it get in formation. Then I programmed it's formation command to "Dance with me". Then later I reprogrammed it to "Do the droid dance" and I'd start poplock when I said that.

Its kinda easier than that. Just tell your droid to follow you when you dance...i saw a wookie doing poplock, and his 2-1B wasdancing like a madman while i plucked my guitar lol. Good times.

No you cannot currently name droids that you 'converse' with

Known bug and on the 'top be fixed' list (with the other 98% of the DE profession)
