Thread: Need Help with Image Design Tree
I was in2 of the busiest cantinas last night and spammed "need partner for Image Design XP" please send /tell Mawntore - No responses ![]()
Of course I have friendsthat I could ask to sit there for hours while I get my XP, but thought it would be easier to find someone that needed the same XP and we just ID back and forth
Anyone have any ideas? or is willing to help me on Bria?
Please let me know...Thank you,
Drakoid

Bad news - I can't do this yet...Im a Wookiee and it won't let me change anything ![]()
Any other ideas folks?
Seriously you can grind to ID2 on 2 - maybe 3 - doses of muon. Grab a female friend and do lips_color. Then when you hit ID2 you can eye_color yourself to your heart's content.
It won't be that much strain on a friend, it will probably take 20 minutes, and you can offer candy or other assorted treats.
I'd do it for free.
In fact, I have done it for free, for three different IDs and two Master Entertainers.
In fact, I also have done the reverse (err... converse maybe?). A guy I knew needed 50 app pts to get master entertainer, so I ID'ed him for half an hour to gain 2 boxes of it, just so he could teach me, just so he could get the app pts. Of course by then I was so close to mastering Entertainer myself, that I went ahead and did it (I'd already had all but one music box, and now only 2 ID boxes... it was too tempting, hee hee).
Two other ideas occur to me, one related to this and one not:
4. Find someone trying to master entertainer (again look in the places I suggsted). If they are close and (like in my case) just need the app pts, it might be worth it for them to click OK a bunch of times and then teach you (free skills for you, woot!), just to get the app pts.
5. Try med centers. Often medics have to just sit there waiting for people to come in with wounds so they can heal 'em, and when I was a medic I sure would not have objected to (while I waited staring at an empty room) clicking OK a few times to help out an IDer. Again, with the boredom thing -- it would be worth it just to have someone to chat with a little. Also, patients might be willing. While the doctor is healing, if they have a lot of wounds and it takes 10 minutes to get fully healed, they might not object to clicking "OK" a few times.
Also remember you don't have to get your full box from one person. Doing 2 or 3 minutes of IDing on 10 different patients or patrons of the cantina while they heal up is just as valuable as doing the same person over and over again. And you may find more people willing to click OK 25 times than 200 times.

When I was working on it, I would get one of the dancers or musicians who was ATK. Most of them had a dance or music macro running anyway, so their fingers were free. They dance or play, you grind, they hit OK as fast as they can, ad infinitum. It goes pretty fast that way.
If there's nobody around it's not much help, but if you're grouped, someone had to invite you right?
My typical M.O. when anyone spams anything in spatial about "Need X please send tell", wherever I might be, is to instantly and permanently add them to my ignore list after 2 or 3 occurrences of the spam. I am not alone in this -- I know many others who do the same. So it's possible that by spamming (your own term) into the cantina scene, you alienated the few people who might, if you had just asked normally, have been inclined to help you (as, again with a normal request rather than a spam request, I ordinarily would).
I recommend the following procedure:
1. Do NOT go into a super-crowded place like Theed or Coronet. People there are dancing/playing music for one reason and one reason only: to gain XP, as much as possible, as fast as possible. That is pretty much the only reason to go to such places -- to max out XP. They want their group max'ed out at 20 people, for maximum XP gain. Letting you into the group to not-dance and not-play means they get less than max XP. Odds are (not always true, but probably most of the time) they will not give up the XP to help you out. It might happen, IF the leader or someone influential with the leader, is generous. I would not count on this. Instead go to a smaller place, e.g. Tyrena or Moenia. Obviously you want to find a place that is manned (not empty). Usually, at least on my server, you can find a handful of people in those places. Dearic also seems to have people in it. Certain player cantinas have a good crowd as well (there is almost always someone in the Foaming Vynock in New Deeja, on my server, for example). These entertainers are in such a small group that letting you in will have no potential impact on their XP (you can't prevent others from joining if they come along), and so you will have a better chance. If it's a small place they might also be a bit lonely and willing to be your guinea pig in exchange for a little conversation.
2. Don't spam, don't /shout, and don't repeat stuff every few minutes. Walk into the place, greet people politely, and -- this is important -- see if anyone reacts in kind. Often even in the smaller places the entire group is full of people on AFK macros, and these people cannot help you (I make no specific judgements about their behavior in this context, but merely state a fact: you need someone actively there to click "OK" over and over again). Assuming someone responds politely to your greeting, now you can explain your situation to him (or her). Again, don't spam... just explain it once. See if the dancer/musician is amenable. Odds are, unless they are doing something particular, they will say OK. I know I would.
3. Sweeten the pot. Offer a 1K tip per box of ID they help you gain. Entertainers are often poor and need money wherever they can get it. Of course, you're an entertainer too, so maybe you can't offer that. But if you have money, you can always tempt them with a few credits (the amount I suggested is purely arbitrary -- you'll have to see what works).
Good luck!
