Thread: So... the devs think it is OK to AFK entertain, but they don't like AFK sampling?

That seems back assword, IMO.
Why don't they give non-masters a good chance to stumble, and when they stumble, give them a pop-up box ala Sampling or Crafting Error, that you have to click to continue to do what you are doing.
Simple, quick.

Actually, the ingame manual(Holocron) states that AFK-macroing is ok. Presumably this includes afk-sampling.

well sampling takes way less time to grind then any of the entertaining profs. the reason they let afk entertainers is cuz some peeps would use an illegal outside of the game macro to do it anyways so they want to give everyone that option. and to boot one can still completely afk grind survey if just requires one extra line in your macro.

Well, originally sampling used to have high yields, and have no little popup box that would force you to click it to continue sampling.
Now the yields of sampling is rediculously low, and every once in a while a box comes up that you have to click to continue sampling

There is ONE huge and only reason why SOE allows AFK entertaining and not sampling.. How many AFK macro playing mules would cancel their accounts if AFK was take care of.. There are a vast number of mule accounts that were generated to be politicians, and afk-tainers.. I don't see SOE cutting off their nose, and their pocket strings.. Their decision on this is purely financial..

The Devs don't like AFK entertainers for the most part (outside their useful roles in the small-time cantinas, but they don't think its feasible to limit it.
As they've said, they aren't going to ban it, but they want to encourage being at the keyboard.
