Entertainer Archive
Thread: My Idea for all cantinas.
Well i wanted it that way so people who do work can have there own shift to preform at when they get home from real work
You could maybe get paid on an xp or entertainer healing rate, so for every point you earn/heal you get, say, 10 credits or something...

Ya JasonK that is a problem, but since you aren't an entertainer I can understand why you'd say that. I once heard somebody complaining how rude some entertainer was when he ignored the tip--but the guy wasn't ignoring it. There should be a beep whenone receivesa tip, as if you received a /tell. Entertainers have mad-scrolling spam, and tips notices are always lost in it. When you get a tip, it's even the same color as the message you get for experience. Even at master, I usually miss it when a tip comes in (unless I'm actually watching for it), and because I took the spam out of spatial and put it into the combat tab, it makes it even easier to miss the tips.
So actually tell somebody you tipped them. I'll have people ask, "Um, did you get the tip?" And I usually just thank them without bothering to scroll back through all the spam. And there's a LOT of spam.
So make /tip beep.
Under the Options - Chat Colour, you can add key words to appear in different colours.
I have "tips" in bright yellow and this helps a lot.

No, what hurts tips the worst are all the AFK'rs spaming for them. If you are there AFK for the xp ... DON'T ASK FOR TIPS!!! The rest of us are there to get paid!
I never ask for tips for heals ... there is no way to control it anyhow, so why bother. If you get tipped, just say thank you an move on.
Another thing that hurts is that everyone is too afraid to set a price on their buffs. As a master dancer, i can buff in 6, 8, or 10 min intervuls. I require a 5k minimum charge for any buff. I ask my customers how long they want. This eases the whole "I charge 5k for a 6min buff, so on and so on" 4 min aint going to kill me if they only tip 5k and want a 10m buff, but i have found if they know that there are levels of buffing, they generally tip better. I have even gotten 20k tip for a 10m buff because the guy felt so bad ... he'd been jipping on his tips. lol
