Good question.

Actually, unless the group was offering a fee for a certain amount of time, I don't think I would take my entertainer on a hunt with anyone. Maybe if I had other skills, I would consider it, but otherwise, I doubt it would be worth the while.

We can still heal mind wounds in camp.
And my character can heal mind wounds pretty darn fast due to an enhancing dress and a high level skill. So maybe you want me along anyway. . . .
Plus my char. can shoot a gun. She can't get hit too many times but she can provide nice backup for the melee guys.

I do wish we could heal battle fatigue in camps, it would make us more useful, especially at lower levels. I'm really not much of a fighter, but I'd like to be able to go out and see the wilderness and provide some entertainment around the campfire. I haven't ever had anyone refuse to group me, but I do wonder if sometimes I'm being a nuisance since I just kinda watch. Yes, I can heal mind wounds, and if there's a medic around, they can heal the fighters while I heal the medic. I suppose it all works out and it's nice to have a well rounded party. But, it would DEFINITELY be nicer if we could do battle fatigue too. I suppose I could also learn another skill that would make me more useful in the field, which I'm considering. But, I feel like I really want to concentrate on my dancing first.

Saturday night I was in a raid on Fort Tuskan with 13-15 people. After a couple of encounters we pulled back to a camp to lick our wounds, and the number of Mind wounds people had was pretty hefty, which is no surprise since the Raiders use rifles (lots of head shots). Although I'm an Apprentice Swordsman, I'm also a part-timeApprentice Performerand people were really grateful when I pulled out the Fizzz and started playing...especially the medic.

Needless to say I got some decent Healing XPs.

I'm working on Master Dancer / Master Medic. I will be going out into the field with the troops a lot more often once I finish Master Dancer. People appreciate having mind wounds healed and then I switch to the medic heals. I can't shoot worth a darn but I can shoot and hit every once in a while so I'm slightly useful in that area but mostly I'm welcomed to shorten their downtime considerably.

I think the purpose of making mind wounds not healable in camps is so combat types come back to town every once in a while. Check out the bazaar, see what the crafters are building, etc. If they could stay out gaining experience all day and night they would and I'd never have any customers for either of my skills.

Also as a sidenote: I am able to cure battle fatigue from my personal house. That's probably as close to getting cured out of town that you'll find.

there is a good reason that you can't heal battle fatigue in the field. Do you think any sort of entertainment IRL cna be alleive real battle fatigue. Do you think being away from home away from your friends and family, Bob Hope jsut took all thoughts of that away from our vetrans. Heck maybe the soldiers should have said., "Bob if you stay with us, we'll never how to go home again, who cares about life back their." I do find that unrealistic and feel the developers got the aim dead on about not being able to heal battle fatigue in camps.

I quit.

I wanted the mandovial as a musician, some medic skills, some artisan skills to support my medic supply needs, and rifle skills. I have NO interest in dancing or image design. I want to play the mando, I play guitar IRL and have loved the sound of guitars since I was a small child, but I will not spend my precious skill points on skills which are of no interest to me. I don't particularly care for having dancers in the game at all, but many people enjoy them. I think the idea of the image designers is a good one, but I don't want to do it so I can play the instrument of my choice. I only continued this far (apprentice musician) because I saw the mandovial in the music techniques collum. I quit when I learned that this skill only allows me to make the mandovial.

I will be reclaiming some of my skill points and going in another direction. Standby for another rifleman/weaponsmith on intrepid.

With more and more houses popping up outside the cities, it'll become easier for musicians to cure BF in the wilds. If you can find an open house to play at, your group can set down and get their BF healed.
