Thread: Could large groups please start splitting tips? Devs how about a /tip group command?
I agrre that there needs to be a /tip group command. We entertainers have been wanting this, but I think that if the main push for this comes from teh customers, we may actually have a better chance of getting the devs to consider it.

I appreciate the sentiment about splitting tips....a group tip command would be good.
However, I have found that customers don't want the entertainer to split the tips themselves, largely because they don't trust them to do so fairly if at all.
Also, some entertainers are starting to develop regular customers that will come to them first. This usually happens when an entertainer has put a lot of effort into giving good shows. In those cases, I don't see why an entertainer should have to split his/her tips.
That being said, if my entertainer is getting tipped way ahead of the field, I do try and split the booty up a little with my co-entertainers in the group.
Still working on a way to notify the audience that splittip is in effect or not.
Sorry Kora but I disagree. I suppose the band leader can have the option to toggle auto split or what not. But I really think it should be kept on the tipper side. People should be allowed to decide if they want to tip a certain person or the whole group. It is their money after all to do with what they would like. To tip or not tip if they want.
I know that what I don't want to see is a mandatory tipsplit where every tip made to a member of the band is always split. Some patrons only want to tip me and not you cause I did a better job of entertaining them.
I guess it might be a little imposing to force the patron _not_ to split his tip when he wants to split it.
maybe it's a rare instance but the scenario i'm seeing as bad would be this: the band doesn't want to split any tips, the patron does. Who wins that one?
If the band doesn't care or is already splitting tips internally then there is no problem.
I am completely against group tipping. My not wanting to split tips is not out of greed but out of sheer supply and demand.
As a Master Entertainer and Novice Musician, I am healing a lot more than the new Novice Entertainer, I am also paying more for my second tier training and giving my first tier training away as should be. I have built up a nice client base that knows I can heal well and that I am nice and do not beg for tips as do some people.
I know it is hard to get tips as Novice Entertainer because I was once their, but the time will come for tips with training and talking to customers and making regulars. I often do share the wealth if someone new is in the cantina and is not getting tips.
Simply this: I have grinded my way to the top and I would like my dues for getting thier, I already have to play low level songs because the new musicians usually can not play anything higher than Starwars2.

One person in the group just types /split 500 or whatever amount you want to share with the group and everyone gets an equal amount. This leaves tip control to tipper and tippee. I've worked as a waiter and it was always customary to tip your barback and busser...your support staff. If you're the one pullin down the big tip because someone liked you, you get the lion's share. Just dont forget the people supporting you.
