Let's say you have a band group, and you want to do a Social Command

like /clap or /bow not to anyone in particular, but the ENTIRE band, can you do this?

If yes, cool... how?

If not, please Dev add some social commands that you can do toward a band as well!

I might be wrong, but I don't think the emotes work while you are playing instruments. The message will say "you bow to so-and-so," but you don't actually bow.

As for whether there is a group emote that works for the band if they are not playing, I'm not sure.

Sounds like he was asking for an emote TO the band as opposed to FROM the band.

And no, there's no method I know of that will allow you to aim an emote at a group. Your best bet is to use the manual /emote command to create your own.

such as /emote thanks the band for a wonderful performace

Yeah, do what Aziz said. You can also select no target and then cheer or clap, and it will just say that you cheer, but not for anyone in particular. If you're concerned about the XP we get for cheers, don't be. It's miniscule.
