Okay, a lot of people are still not understanding the excellent FAQ that is already out there so let me help you out a little with 5 easy steps.

1. Get a gig by speaking to the noble in the theatre who is stood chatting withthe musician / dancer trainers to stage left (choose depending on which you want to do, you can do one of each at once).

2. Keep accepting and aborting missions untilyou get one in the local cantina or hotel a couple hundred metres away usually.

3. The waypoint will be activated, make your way to the building. Note that waypoints only show up at entrances to buildings, you need to go INSIDE the building to play the gig. e.g. in a hotel use the stage, in a cantina the dancefloor.

4. Start playing your instrument or dancing (depending on gig type) for 5 minutes CONTINUOUSLY using flourishes. Do not stop or you will have to start over.

5. When the noble is happy you have proved yourself you will be notified of gig mission complete and the credits transferred to bank.

NOTE: You doNOT need someone watching or listening to you to complete gig missions. Although as entertainers it is nice to have an audience, for the gig you do not need one.

How can you tell where the gig is?

The nobles don't really seem to tell you until you accept the mission, or do you actually take the mission and cancel it each time?

I take the mission, check the coordinates on my datapad, and if they are not close by then I abort and repeat the process. Very useful when you are on your way to another city, stop off, get a gig to play there and it covers your fee. Often you find you also get tips from people who pass by and listen to / watch you. Rarely do I just get the gig payment from the noble Have fun!

If you don't mind the time investment, have everyone in your music group grab gigs to the same cantina/hotel. That way you'll get the group XP bonus and split X mission rewards X ways (where X is the number of people in your group.)

I just do the solo gigs for the most part though. They are nice on Talus, as in Dearic, the cantina is 170m away and the hotel is 150m away, and pretty much straight shots to run to. Also you've got a better chance at getting those as Dearic only has 2 venues to choose from and Nashal only has two to choose from. Rori might be the same as well, dunno, never been there.

Also, gig missions run from 400-600 creds. I sometimes abort the sub-500 cred ones in hopes of getting a better paying one.

The amount of xp per tick isthe same as anywhere if you are dancing / playing alone (you can do these gigi missions grouped and split the money if you want). It's still up to you to flourish, just don't wear yourself out before the gig is over or they will not be impressed and you will have to start again.

The Mos Epsa to Mos Eisley run is faster and pays more. Just go to a terminal in either city and accept any delivery mission paying over 700cr. Get two. The odds are excellent that they are both to the other city (Just check the destination. ME and MEp are 9K apart). That's 1400cr, (1290 after ticket purchase)and all you had to do was take a shuttle. Sometimes you get lucky and don't even have to wait for the shuttle at all.
