I'm an artisan who's also into marksmanship, I'm pretty new so I'm often in the cantina healing.

What do most performers prefer for tips? Money or clothes. I'm on the Bria Server on corellia and most people in my city like to be given clothes. Is this the norm? or shouldI start carrying cash on hand when leaving the planet for new locales?

Easy, I drag and drop the item on them, it opens a trade widow, they just don't offer anything back. when they accept, they get a free shirt

This is a great question! But, I don't think I could ever speak for all of the entertainers, as some may desperately need the money for some reason or another. Or perhaps some of them simply don't give a poopie about clothes. And, I suppose there's also the possibility that you could end up giving somebody some clothes that they already have. But, if I were entertaining somebody, I'd be insanely happy if people tipped me more clothes! Then, I could still have all the clothes and not have to justify to myself why I'm buying clothes all the darn time instead of saving my money up for an advancement, a house, or something else I might need.

Basically, I think you'll find a great deal of entertainers love to get new clothes. But, I guess the best bet is to ask beforehand, especially to make sure they don't already have something.

Like Drygo I can only give my personal opinion. Cash, clothes, items,"thanks" in the spacial chat or via /tell, or a grateful emote...it's all good. They are all just different ways of showing appreciation, and all are effective.
