I started an entertainer on a new server just for pure marco afk'ing. Here my plan out.

Set up a marco to play and do some flourishes.
In this marco send out text stating to NOT tip me, and listen to OTHER entertainers of there are any in the canteena.

Go to a non-starting city, like on Yavin or Lok, Sit in the Corner of the canteena, and AFK Macro during non-peek times, (like when i'm at work and most everyone is sleeping?

This would benifit the players who DO play during those times, and might not have access to an entertainer on an advanced planet, and would have to spend 3K+ creds to travel round trip to get wounds healed (if there is no entertainer I'm not taking away anyone's audiance)
I am asking to NOT be tipped, and if there is any other performers I am asking to watch them, not me.

I would want to do this purely for helping comunity, not for creds or to have a super entertainer. Just a thought.

Well SOE doesn't really like people who macro while not at the computers (save for people taking stretch or coffee breaks or the like). Having a looping macro go for 8 hours just doesn't agree with their view of what the macroing systemwas designed for, which is to aid in complex or mulit-function techniques,i.e., firing a blaster then pulling out a rifle and using an aim shot command to finish it off, or make songs that can be 'remembered' by musicians.

I myself have no problems against it, as I use a looping macro (but not unattended, I do it so I don't have to keep repeating the macro, and I take it off and go afk when I leave for a long time). The idea of adding in the messages that say you are doing what you are doing is very kind to the other players, as it doesn't take away from their money and xp, and the fact that you could help musicians in need with skills is nice, but I'm not sure SOE will agree. People used to macro while at work in AC, getting super high in skills without really trying, and it made a lot of others quite mad (those who had to play a year to get where they were, not a mere 2 weeks of macroing). So you may get some of the community you are trying to help a bit angry by doing this.

Nobel as your intentions are I would say don't so it. If you just have to do it heres some advice. Never put text or emotes in your macro it will agravate people who have to listen to you. Simply be honest and turn your AFK flag on so they know your macroed and let the chips fall where they may. Make shure you park yourself out of the way so live entertainers dont have to work around you. The reason I say don't so it at all is this, I am a master entertainerand master dancer, therefor I do not need XP. If there is a place that has customers and no entertaienrs to service them I will be more then glad to go take care of those people and provide them with a good show. If your servicing them AFK they are less likely to complain and will be stuck watching you AFK wich does the job of healing them, but does nothing to entertain them. My last comment is this with the last patch they made cantinas work like med centers you still heal BF without an entertaienr present but not nearly as fast.

ahh didn't know that, but yeah.. if IF i did it I would park myself in one of the cubbies of the canteena, or somewhere out of the way for sure. And the time for the emotes/text would be on a long times, probibyl about every 8-10 min or so, as to not spam listeners. and AFK flag up for sure. But looking more and mroe a remote possibilty, who knows.

I wouldn't even bother with emotes and text.

If you're not there to back up the emote, then it's pointless to include them. Even if you space it out every 10 minutes, it'll annoy the other entertainers. And some patrons can spend as much time in a cantina as an entertainer, especially if he's a crafter.

So, you'd be doing a favor by not including text or emotes. Trust me on that. If you're unable to respond to the patrons, don't throw something for them to respond to.

But performing AFK in the corner is not a big deal. Out of sight, out of mind.
