Well, I play a female Twi'lek dancer. She gets a kick out of it when the male musicians trying to get to Master Entertainer start dancing.

She would probably pay big-time to go to a ladies' night and watch men dancing. She would get a kick out of it I am sure. :-)

In the "circle of entertainers" I hang out with we've only got one male dancer, and he is a master dancer now. Of course, he actually is gay (and openly so), so that doesn't really help the stereotype, but...

OT andmentioned in passing.

I am a RL ballroom dancer. I am not a pro, I do go to some competitions. At competitions there are a lot of young and beautiful woman looking for partners, many are single. The ratio is in your favor, as long as you dont have two heads, or talk back to the voices in your head.

The straight dancers far outnumber the gay ones, and there are tons of ladies who love to have a partner. I tell myfriends at my engineering job when they complain about meeting women, "if you want to meet ladies, ballroom dancing is the way to go."

I think it is a big problem that is between your own ears. Who cares what a bunch of kids think and how they may harass you. Dancing well, with a nice partner, and enjoying yourself is the best revenge.

I'm one of the minority to actually persue the dancing line. In fact, I've taken it most the way now, I just got the first exotic dances last night. (And within minutes of trying them out I got my first two tips for the day.. Of course thats just coincedence, because I think they were both tipping all the entertainers judging by the thank yous)

I've had a few run-ins with the crowd. Being called gay, homo, all that stuff. Of course, I usually just smile at them and ask them which one has all the women standing around them, as all theother dancers come to my support.

That said, when you get novice, and better when you get to Knowledge III, you get the poplock dance. As the name indicates, the dance goes after the style of popping and locking. Most the big name pop stars that I can think of which use this style are male. (Think Michael Jackson, and more modern a lot of hip hop) Just dress the part (What I call "street clothes" is what I normally wear) and do the dance. Try to talk the musicians into playing starwars3, too. I think starwars3 with brass being the lead/dominant instrument and poplock is a great combo. Just stay with flourishes 1-4.

One thing that is really fun to do is dance formal (Or maybe lyrical, haven't tried it yet) with a partner. Turn it into a couples dance of sorts. The formal dance is about poses, and if you position it right, you can get some interesting poses. For example, flourish 3 leaning back, with the woman right in front of the man. Of course any dance is fun to do with others, using bandflourishes.

Finally as others have said, for the most part I get nothing but encouragement from the women. Many of the other dancers flirt with me.Females come in to heal will flirt. It's a lot of fun. And as people tell me over and over again, the women need their eye candy too.

Recently, I actually have started working in a player owned cantina. (On Kettemoor server, a place called the Glitter Pit in a player city on Naboo) I've only been there once so far, but as I gain experience (And I don't mean xp) I may work on a guide on dancing for women, covering everything from clothing to style, and how to approach the mark.

While I did run the Musician route first, I do enjoy dancing as well. The ladies are usually overjoyed to have a male dance with them.

As far as being shirtless, it's certainly possible. There'sjust nothing in the game that allows it to happen normally.I know that because a few minutes after I bought a fewshirts from a tailor, they all disappeared from my inventory (including the one I was wearing). To my embarrasment, the result was this:

The point being that the male torso is fully modelled.

If you're looking for other clothing styles, here's some you can get ideas from:

I recently got another one that looks pretty cool, but..well...it disappeared. lol

Anyway, I can generally make all of the dances I have so far look masculine with different clothing options, with the exception of popular. That one is tough as a male dancer. But, it's actually not bad when you have a female dancing with you.

Oh....my god...I would so love if that was the default male shirtless. I mean, come on, it would make some outfits so much easier.

well... me being new to the profession tried dancing out.. I picked up an entertainer mission and went to the way point (to give you an idea of how new I am I danced right where the way point was.. right in the middle of a busy street) and I got insults etc.. it must be a stereotype or something... I just wanted the money heh..

I just started down the path of entertainer last week. I am about to break into the novice dancer within the next day or two. I have also come to the conclusion that I am one of maybe five guys that actually went down the dance path. I am not gay and don't believe any of the other male dancers are gay, as i seem to be categorized as gay for being a dancer, sadly i am almost to master marksman so if in doubt i duel them and tell them they just got smoked by an entertainer. Hmmm got off track, well back to my problem. There are no outfits for male dancers, best i can do is a bright red tactical skin suit. Im a male dancer! I should atleast be able to take my wifebeater off with out having to wear a coat. Similarly most of the dances seem to be geared towards female dancers. Id like to see some male dancer outfits and dances be implemented by the devs.

If you are a male dancer and feel the same way I do reply stating your woes of being a male dancerso someone might take notice.

Additionally, I was thinking some of these player opperated cantinas should have ladies night and pay us male dancers a hefty price to come entertain those worn out women.

They really need to go back and get a male dancer to use as a Graphic model (no pun intended). It seems that they just used a female model and applied it to the males as well. A small thing, but some people would like to see it fixed

*whistles at Taerin*

What are the names of some of those clothing items? I've never seen a belt that actually fits like that before, most of em are those ugly combat belts. And those pants look like they are riding pretty high, what are they?

The outfit that looks Riverdance-ish is:

thin striped pants (striped slacks can also work)

trim lined shirt

The belt look is part of the shirt. The tux style outfit is:

thin striped pants

formal shirt (white)

two-tone rugged jacket (primary red, black trim)

You can wear just an open jacket and no shirt under ... that way you're at least half shirtless ,)

But yesterday I saw a guy dancing next to me (I'm a musician) completely in white ... white cloak, white shirt, white pants and shoes. He was also doing that breakdance or pop-thingy, and I thought it looked totally cool, especially with the outfit (and I'm not gay either ,))

But he just danced until his fatigue was healed, so probably he also had negative experience with people gay-calling
