Thread: Castable Mind Heal

I've been invited to play in a few large groups on Endor from time to time, and I had no combat skills at the time. A lot of things there give disease, which will give someone a full bar of black mind wounds in a few seconds, so they really need good entertainers around.

Dont all of you entertainers wish that there was a mind heal (like the health and action heals for medics) that you could use in the field? That way if you feel like a change in scenery you could go out and hunt with your guild and actually be useful (for those who are pure entertainers no actual fighting capabilities). I am not a entertainer and i know i would love if they put this in. They could also make it so that musicians and dancers have higher heals as they progress. I think the team leads for entertainer, musician, and dancer should push to having this implemented.

I agree entertainers are useful for that. My #1 problem, however, is that mobs frequently target the mind pool but we have no mind heals. Since the entertainer classes deal with mind wounds they should be able to heal mind damage too.

The "no mind wound instant heal" theme is a game design decision. On the question why pistols are way overpowered compared to rifles ( rifles don't hit short range, pistols hit 95% in any range ) the marksman correspondent received the answer that mind wounds aren't healable in combat, so rifles are special and that evens out the better pistol ranges. So changing that would be a game balance action and not a quick fix like you suggested.

I think the mind being unhealable as an excuse for rifles being balanced is just a lousy excuse. Swordsman damage mind also and they're never mentioned, they don't suffer the same problems as rifleman. Also, pistols being more powerful than rifleman because of mind damage? That works until you realize that theres a pistol attack that damages mind too(bounty hunter's eyeshot). Or combat medic's poisons that damage mind.


We need some kind of way to heal mind. Whatever excuse they had for it isn't holding ground now. Allowing us to heal mind would give us more value than we have now. Honestly, outside of any aesthetic values I'm starting to believe the musician & dancer professions are worthless. Unless you have a ton of wounds(i.e diseases on endor) being a master musician/dancer will likely only save you maybe 3 minutes on healing. Doctors & combat medics can heal wounds and damage..I don't understand why we can only heal wounds(assuming battle fatigue is a wound). If you take a doctor and remove his ability to heal damage, buff, revive or cure poison/disease you pretty much have a musician/dancer.


As a side note, doctors cannot buff mind either. Perhaps that ability can be given to dancer/musician. Maybe give musicians the ability to heal mind and dancers buff it, or the other way around. Excluding aesthetics the two professions are identical.


For those of you who stick to "entertainers are not a combat profession!," neither are doctors, and that doesn't stop them from going into battle and healing.
