Hi,

New aspiring musician here.

Being very poor as we are, I always take out the gig missions outside the cantinas I visit. The problem is not everyone does the missions in the bands I join so my money gets split to every member. Leaving me with about 20 cr

Is there anyway to turn this off.? I'm of course all for spreading the wealth if everyone is doing the gigs, but most of the time they arnt.

Hmmm, I've forgotten how to play.

The only thing I can tell you is don't join the group. The paltry payouts are the reason I quit doing gig missions in the first place. If you're a decent entertainer in the right cantina, you can make more money in a half-hour of entertaining PC's than you can in a half-hour of running gig missions.

If you find you're not making tips and you absolutely have to do gig missions, just don't join the group. Instead, politely head over to one of the side rooms in the cantina where you are out of the way and play your gig as if you were playing a private party. You can also search through the gig mission list until you find a couple of hotel missions and play them anywhere in the hotel instead of playing the cantina.

If it is not busy, I try to get everyone in the group to get a mission that is in the cantina. If you get 5 or 6 to do it, you can make reasonable money.

I can't seem to finish a gig mission.. I'm already an apprentice musician.. I tried doing a music gig and went to the WP (front door of cantina or hotel) and I played until my action goes dead... is there something I'm doing wrong here??

or do I have to bring the ENTIRE group just so I can complete the mission?

or is it I need to play more or better?? should there be a Percent bar showing how complete we are on completing the gig?

why are far away gig missions pay SOO LOW!!!! it's better off doing delivery missions.. and MUCH faster too..

but I just want to know how to complete a gig...

And there is no percent-bar or status-bar, though it would be nice. Heck, I'd even settle for a line in the mission detail that says you must earn XYZ Musician XP to complete this mission. Then I could at least keep track of it in my head.

I've never seen an official explanation, but everyone I've ever spoken to has said these missions are keyed off of earning a certain amount of XP. So just keep playing your highest song and your highest instrument, and flourish until you get a message saying you have completed your mission. If you stop playing or switch songs, I've been told the counter resets itself and you have to start all over again.

I was told the mission completes after a set period of time had passed since you had begun performing - the timer resets if you stop performing for any reason.

Do not move. Do not run out of action (doing so will automatically stop you performing), so don't flourish like crazy. Do not train people (which for me requires a stop of my performance).

You just need to stay put and perform carefully for 10-15 minutes.

Unless you're completely bugged as one of my characters is, and no matter how long she performed, whether she flourished or not with a healer or not, in which case she had to scrap the missions and hasn't been able to complete one since.

Granted, I haven't tried just standing there and doing the idle dance/music for 10-15 yet to see if that's enough to do the job, but for the characters that haven't had a problem with it that seems to be the case.
